It's a nice family-friendly pub and the manageress obviously didn't want to lower the tone of the place. Some places don't allow trainers, or boots, or jeans or football shirts. Some insist on a shirt and tie. Some places don't allow flags hanging from people's necks. If you were that desperate to get served you could have just folded the flag up and put it in your pocket or a carrier bag. But no. You wanted to make a point in a loud manner and try and vilify the lady based on your assumptions about her politics. This kind of behaviour actually disrespects the flag and puts the country in a bad light. Imagine what a nice family of tourists from Japan, Germany or Switzerland would have thought as they were eating their meal, had they witnessed this kind of yobbish behaviour.
