#Cowboys Shavon Revel Jr. was really tested on Thursday night vs the #Lions. I believe he will bounce back — he just needs more reps and more opportunities to play press. As a DB, you’re not going to win every rep in press-man coverage, but it’s necessary to get hands on receivers, feel their releases, and learn their tendencies. That’s how young corners grow. The issue is the system. The Cowboys played only 14% man coverage the entire game, which does not match the strengths of our defensive backs. He had always been known as a coach who liked to press and play aggressive man to man defense. Something from his answer stuck with me. I’m all in on Washington CB Tacario Davis as a Day 2 swing for the fences pick. Ultra rare tools with 4.4 speed at 6’4 and 34” arms. It’s impossible to throw over the top on this guy. He’s a press man/cover 3 guy all the way. Like most of these taller corners, his lack of lateral fluidity gets him in trouble in off coverage. But just like K-State safety VJ Payne, this dude has one of the highest upsides at the position if put in the right scheme. I was high on Nahshon Wright coming out of Oregon State and Davis is in that same mold, just more athletically gifted.

Joel Webbon said that if his daughter comes home with a black man that loves the Lord he would say, “praise God! Marry him!” That was four years ago. The video is wild in that it’s like he is predicting and critiquing a later version of himself. More recently he said the opposite of everything in this video. I’ve seen this man shifting in his views nonstop since he first popped up on the radar. There are many examples. Though he always postures as having a solid and confident basis for his views (despite frequently lacking in Scriptural justification) I am left to wonder… What will he say tomorrow?

After getting brain damage 2 weeks ago and being told he had to be put to sleep it’s been a steep learning curve for little Stormzy. He keeps falling but he refuses to stay down. It’s become obvious that his recovery will take some time. He needs patience, love and medical care. So we spoke with his owner and he agreed. He is a lovely man who had Stormzy’s 2 other siblings and lives in a very busy area. He was delighted when we said we could give Stormzy a better life. We are also helping him with sterilizing the dogs in his area. He is a very good man. Especially to know what is best for Stormzy. I’m sure our inbox will be full of requests about Stormzy but the truth is that’s a long way off. He needs a lot of patience and care which he will get with us. From a scouting perspective, Dach had a very impressive shift. He made an excellent defensive play deep in his zone to spin away from the opponent. Nice puck skills and speed exiting the zone, smart feed to Newhook on the rush, solid puck retrievals in the O zone, and chip to Newhook. A solid hit to take Fabbro out of the play went to the front of the net and bumped Fabbro away with the purpose of establishing a net-front presence. Even his shot was decent other than not raising the puck but that is often the case that close in...it was simply a great save. He also diligently got two more cracks at it, and had the right idea. Two more good saves. I loved that shift from him. If he does that consistently, he will start producing.

If the Miami Dolphins don't land Mauigoa, Fano or Ioane with the #11 pick, I will be one of the ones in this fanbase pounding the table for Keylan Rutledge at #30 (if he's still on the board) if upgrading the offensive trenches on Day 1 is one of the new regime's goals.
