We received multiple calls of a driver going in the wrong direction and causing a crash on 6th Ave. Upon talking to the wrong way driver, our Agents immediately suspected that alcohol was involved. The driver believed he was on I-25 at 104th, a far cry from Lakewood. He was arrested and it was found that the driver had already been convicted of DUI four times. Thankfully no major injuries were reported, but this situation could’ve been a lot worse. A DUI doesn't care what time it is. Neither does the law.

Yesterday (4/22/26), deputies and FHP Orlando troopers responded to multiple reports of hit-and-run crashes involving a reckless driver on I-4, starting in Seminole County. Witnesses reported the suspect vehicle hit a guardrail, lost a front wheel and continued driving, exiting I-4 and getting stuck at a construction site off Shell Road in DeBary. Deputies detained the driver, Eric Drewry (DOB 8/28/1978), who appeared to be under the influence. He resisted and kicked a deputy while being escorted into the back of a patrol vehicle. While being questioned by a trooper about the crash, Drewry responded "What crash?" While being transported to the hospital Drewry asked deputies multiple times to be released in exchange for $2,000. Instead, he was charged with resisting and battery on law enforcement by VSO, and DUI, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, and refusal to submit to DUI testing (subsequent offense) by FHP.

Newly released video shows Utah County sheriff’s deputies and Utah Highway Patrol troopers stopping a wrong-way driver on I-15 early last month. According to the original incident report, two deputies responded to an agency assist after reports of a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-15 near mile marker 263. Deputies located the vehicle near mile marker 269. One deputy struck the driver’s side of the vehicle, spinning it into another deputy’s patrol car, which prevented the wrong-way vehicle from reentering traffic. Both deputies and both occupants of the vehicle were not injured. All three vehicles sustained damage. Utah Highway Patrol took over the crash investigation and investigated the driver for DUI. The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened shortly after 4 a.m. on Jan. 24, calling wrong-way driving a recurring and dangerous problem on Utah roadways. An intoxicated military veteran’s sudden breakdown in the middle of a Florida neighborhood spiraled into a chaotic scene that ended in hand-cuffs—just days before his wedding. Married man and his girlfriend get arrested for hooking up in a McDonald's parking lot. Volusia County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call regarding a couple doing the deed inside a parked GMC Denali. The vehicle's passenger door was wide open, exposing the act directly to the public and the witness. Deputies in Charlotte County, Florida, received an urgent call from an Uber driver. She reported that her passenger, 52-year-old Eric Martel, had become incredibly aggressive and confrontational after she picked him up from a local bar. Fearing for her safety, the driver didn't hesitate—she immediately dropped Martel off in a nearby business parking lot and called 911. When deputies arrived minutes later, Martel initially allowed a pat-down for weapons, but the cooperation stopped there. Over the course of the interaction, his demeanor completely shifted into outright hostility. When property management requested that Martel be formally trespassed from the property, he flatly refused to leave. THREE ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING, ROBBERY, AND VEHICLE CRASH IN SACRAMENTO At approximately 5:33 PM on Thursday, January 22, North Division Patrol Deputies responded to the area of Fulton Avenue and Hurley Way in Sacramento for a report of a vehicle collision that had escalated into a physical fight. While deputies were responding, it was reported that an individual was shooting into a crowd. Deputies determined that three suspects—25-year-old Avieon Spencer, 35-year-old Antwon Pace, and a 14-year-old juvenile—had been driving erratically through a parking lot before crashing their vehicle, causing it to overturn onto its side. After the crash, Pace appeared injured while Spencer and the juvenile exited the vehicle. The suspects became upset after noticing bystanders recording the incident. They assaulted a male victim and robbed him of his phone, and also assaulted a female victim, though they were unsuccessful in taking her phone. When onlookers attempted to physically detain Spencer, a fight broke out. During that confrontation, the juvenile retrieved a firearm and began shooting. One victim was struck by gunfire, and an arriving Sacramento Metro Fire engine was also struck. Fire personnel were forced to flee on foot and were fortunately not injured. Spencer and the juvenile fled the scene in different directions. The juvenile was quickly apprehended by responding deputies. Sheriff’s K9 units tracked Spencer from the scene, and Sheriff’s K9 Billy located him hiding in a nearby residential neighborhood, where he was taken into custody. He was later medically cleared and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for robbery and delaying a public officer, with bail set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 26. The handgun used in the incident was recovered. The 14-year-old shooter was booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) and assault on a firefighter with a firearm. Pace was transported to a local hospital for injuries related to the collision and will be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on outstanding warrants once medically cleared.

When onlookers attempted to physically detain Spencer, a fight broke out. During that confrontation, the juvenile retrieved a firearm and began shooting. One victim was struck by gunfire, and an arriving Sacramento Metro Fire engine was also struck. Fire personnel were forced to flee on foot and were fortunately not injured. Spencer and the juvenile fled the scene in different directions. The juvenile was quickly apprehended by responding deputies. Sheriff’s K9 units tracked Spencer from the scene, and Sheriff’s K9 Billy located him hiding in a nearby residential neighborhood, where he was taken into custody. He was later medically cleared and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for robbery and delaying a public officer, with bail set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 26. The handgun used in the incident was recovered. The 14-year-old shooter was booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall for assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) and assault on a firefighter with a firearm. Pace was transported to a local hospital for injuries related to the collision and will be booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on outstanding warrants once medically cleared.

Negotiators made repeated attempts to establish communication and have Carter, who was seen earlier with a firearm, surrender peacefully. They received no response. As deputies worked to resolve the incident safely, our SCOUT Team (Sheriff Craft Observation Utilizing Technology) deployed a drone inside the residence. The drone located Carter in a corner of the garage. Although he was obviously alive, he was unresponsive. One hand was hidden beneath his body while the other was holding a knife. Was he playing possum, or was he possibly unconscious? Recognizing the danger of sending deputies into a confined space with an armed suspect, deputies devised an innovative solution. By attaching a powerful magnet beneath the drone, they were able to safely remove the knife from Carter’s hand. This was a first in the nation, the use of a drone to successfully disarm a suspect (no, it wasn’t AI). Meanwhile, Buster removed obstacles that were impeding access to the garage. Carter reanimated, waking from his drug-induced slumber. Deputies utilized the Rook armored rescue vehicle to provide ballistic protection while approaching the suspect. Despite extensive efforts to gain his compliance, Carter refused to give up. Sheriff’s K9 Beau was deployed and successfully apprehended him.
