hardware always gets these tools like 5 years after software does so this is good to see. designing is only half of it tho, the machines still have to run smart once theyre built

Handshake CEO Garrett Lord explains why AI agents exploded in software engineering but not the rest of white-collar work: "In software engineering, the average engineer is two, three, four times more productive. Software engineering agents are able to operate for multiple days at a time, automating hundreds of hours of work." "CEOs are not seeing that level of automation and ROI in other functions beyond software engineering. Software engineering is accelerated in such a massive way because everything was written down in GitHub. And it's extremely clear with what the right answer is." "When you have enough verifiable rewards and you scale up enough compute against verifiable rewards, you get what happened in software engineering, which is agents able to operate and do the job of humans." Sahil Bhaiwala Handshake

Introducing Coldtea. The ADE for shipping self-driving software. Purpose-built for the entire software lifecycle. Other IDEs optimise for one thing: Build. Run more agents in parallel, ship faster, orchestrate better. But software engineering is not just about building. Coldtea AI brings your coding agents, agentic end-to-end testing, and production monitoring agents into ONE development environment, so you can move at agent speed without breaking anything.

AI is transforming both the way we work & how we write the software people use for work. Here’s what that looks like at Dropbox. Hear more from our director of software engineering Anuradha Agarwal—and senior director of software engineering Uma Namasivayam—on Working Smarter.

Windsurf CEO Varun Mohan says engineering comes down to three things: - what to solve - how to solve it - and doing the work AI is already taking over the last two. The best engineers will be the ones who know what's worth building -- and why.

Agents have reached hardware. We are launching Flow v3, the Agentic Platform for Physical Engineering. We've spent over a year building it in secret, alongside the best hardware companies and AI research labs. An agent can now do real engineering work: change a requirement, push the update into your CAD and simulation tools, and flag every test that needs to rerun. Iterations/learning cycles that took months are being reduced to days. Agents are the biggest shift in how we engineer hardware since CAD. The core innovation for the CAD era was the parametric model. The core innovation for the Agentic Era is Flow's Systems Graph. The systems graph is a living model of every requirement, design model, test, analysis and every connection between them. It gives every agent the full context of the system, so every change stays consistent across the whole design. Engineers and agents work side by side on the same system. Engineers get to focus on architecture - the decisions that matter -while thousands of agents churn through rewriting reports, rerunning analysis and simulation, and triggering tests. Reusable rockets, self-driving cars, small modular reactors, robots that make decisions, the most complex machines ever built, are defined by millions of interconnected requirements, far beyond what any human team can keep aligned on its own. Rivian, Joby, Astranis, Skydio, Radiant, and the most ambitious hardware programs already build on Flow. More on the launch in the comments. @buildonfloweng

Software for Agents Aaron Epstein The next trillion users on the internet won't be people. They'll be AI agents, and they're already doing real work on top of software that was designed for humans clicking buttons. Every major category of software needs to be rebuilt for agents as first-class citizens, and that won't come from incumbents.

When the way software is built changes, we help companies adopt it. For over a decade, that meant bringing React Native to production across mobile, web, desktop, and TV. Now we are expanding that same mission to AI-native engineering: helping teams ship software with agents, safely and at scale. This is our new manifesto.
