AI agents are becoming native users of software. Today, we’re kicking off Unveil Week with a broader vision than human-only collaborative features. Software itself needs to change for the age of agents.

We’re launching Judgment Labs today and announcing $32M in funding. As AI agents take on more of the work that creates economic value, they generate massive amounts of production data: the clearest record of how they behave with users, software, and the real world. Judgment builds infrastructure for improving AI agents from production data.

AI power users are here and the case for agent-friendly software is materializing. Aaron Levie on agents outnumbering people 1000x: "If you start to imagine that we all have to build software for agents… we spend as much time now thinking about the agent interface to our tool as we do the human interface." "If you have a hundred or a thousand times more agents than people, then your software has to be built for agents… it's going to be through an API or a CLI or MCP." "What if you give a coding agent access to your SaaS tools and a coding agent access to your knowledge work, workflows and context?" "It can actually code its way or use APIs through whatever task it's trying to achieve." "That appears to be like a paradigm that is starting to compound… and I actually think it kind of makes sense as the ultimate manifestation of this stuff." Aaron Levie

Truffle AI (Truffle AI) makes it easy for developers to integrate AI Agents into any software application. They do this by making agents available as simple APIs that can be called from anywhere. Congrats on the launch, Rahul Karajgikar and @think_truffle!

The ceo of Box says if you're not building for agents, you won't exist as a software company in 2-3 years. Aaron Levie recalled how in the 90s, it was mainframes built for institutions. If you didn't build for the CIO or IT org, you didn't exist. You could build software for users, but no one cared. Similarly, in the mid 2000s, it was software built for end users. If you didn't take that route, you got completely trounced. The likes of Yammer, Slack, Zoom, etc., ripped through enterprises with viral adoption. Bottom-up and completely user driven. And now it's software built for agents. We're going to have trillions of agent runs. The systems that optimize for agents the most will win. - lower latency - better API exposure - better system intelligence - serves the right information when called Agents will eventually choose their own tools on the fly and make purchasing decisions at runtime. All based on past experiences/online reviews/performance, sans any procurement process. The more pragmatic version is companies swapping out bad tools / tech that don't work well with agents. - crm doesn't expose the right APIs - auth can't handle agent scale requests - database has too much latency for agent workloads Being good enough for humans won't work because they have to pass the litmus test for agents to make the cut.

.Amjad Masad : Creating software is going to be one of the most exciting areas. The average person will soon be as capable as what a senior software engineer is today, as we shift from doing the work to directing it. Instead of coding line by line, you’ll run multiple agents in parallel, building the frontend, refactoring the database, shipping features, all in the background. On top of that, you’ll have a clean interface to design and interact with AI more creatively. Software creation is moving from execution to orchestration, and soon, it won’t be a specialised skill, it’ll be the baseline.

Is the rise of FDEs a short-term phenomenon or a continuous feature of the AI ecosystem? “I have a bit of a hot take: I think it's the future for the short term. Right now there's a concentration of people in San Francisco who really know how to deploy agents, eval agents, and be AI first, and that knowledge just isn't out there yet. Eventually it will be. At that point you won't need teams to set up AI agents for every enterprise, and it'll become more of a job function, similar to software engineering.” Do you agree? Do you agree with the dissemination of knowledge FDEs will be needed less Matan Grinberg Nikesh Arora Shyam Sankar

The next economy won't be visible to humans. AI agents will transact, settle, and coordinate value at machine speed, and the only rails built for that are crypto. In this episode of The Journeyman, I explain why the major layer 1s aren't just crypto infrastructure. They're the coordination substrate for an invisible economy that's already being built. As ever, please enjoy!

The SaaSpocalypse narrative is starting to make less and less sense. Software companies like $PLTR, $NOW, and $CRM are getting punished because investors believe AI will replace SaaS. Jensen Huang disagrees. “Claude can write software.” That’s true. But Jensen argues that enterprises aren’t going to build their own software. They’re going to deploy AI agents that use software tools to get work done. “Agents won’t replace tools. Agents will use tools.” NVIDIA is already seeing this happen. According to Jensen, the company has deployed so many AI agents that tool usage is actually increasing. That’s the exact opposite of the SaaSpocalypse thesis.

Sat down with Aaron Levie, CEO of Box, to discuss where AI agents are going, how agentic workflows are transforming software, why agents will require much more memory, and how token budgets for enterprises are evolving. Today, Sierra is releasing Ghostwriter, our agent for building agents. With Ghostwriter, you can create an AI agent for your customer experience — one that can chat, pick up the phone, speak dozens of languages, take action on your systems of record, and be protected with industry-leading guardrails — simply by having a conversation. No clicking, no forms, no menus. Codex and Claude Code have transformed how we build software, making it possible for software engineers to orchestrate and review the work rather than doing all the work themselves. We think the same transformation will happen for all software. Rather than every enterprise app having a web app for humans and an API for automation, every software platform’s UI will be an agent that can do the work on your behalf. I recorded a demo of my building and optimizing an agent with Ghostwriter so you can see how powerful and easy it is to use. It’s completely changed the way our early adopters build agents, and it’s changed the way I think about the software industry. Let me know what you think, and, if you’re interested in trying it out at your business, please reach out directly.

Aaron Levie is one of the greats. He’s been the co-founder and CEO of Box for 20 years, of which public CEO for 10. And he shows no signs of slowing down, as one of the most active CEOs thinking about how AI agents will shape enterprise software. In our Greylock Partners Change Agents, Aaron and I discussed the question: happens when SaaS is no longer built for humans, but for a much larger scale of agents and humans orchestrating those agents? A few of my favorite topics from the episode: - Why 90%+ of enterprise data has gone unused to date and how agents finally make it accessible - Why SaaS categories won’t disappear, but will be rebuilt around agent orchestration layers - Why the system of record doesn't lose importance, but gains importance the enable agents - How abundance (not labor replacement) is the real shift agents bring to knowledge work - And the real moat in the agent era may be neither the model nor the interface but the workflow memory the agent accumulates over time Aaron has one of the clearest, most grounded takes on where agents for the enterprise can go and what happens to traditional enterprise SaaS.
