Just purchased a home. We looked at a couple of houses that were high on the list for serious consideration and as soon as I took a look in the attic and seen they had sprayed this instead of using traditional insulation we left.

Mmmm, not a good idea! 1. You can’t repair the roof 2. In the UK 🇬🇧 you can’t mortgage it!

Stuff is great until you have to service anything inside it, plumbing/electrical :/

I see foam covering what looked to be ventilation purposely built into the roof. I’m going to guess that’s not a great idea.

Quickest way to make a building worthless.

Apparently this can render a property unsaleable because the structure can't be inspected and a lender won't lend on it.

Even though that's a steel roof, it will need to be replaced, and the poor bastard who gets the job will curse your name.

If your foam was applied like this, you hired the wrong company. Applying it that thick leaves gaps and cracks. You will be inhaling its off gases forever. I only hire the most experienced because bad stuff will happen to your house and you won’t see it until it’s too late

Wonder how safe will it be over a period of time... as the foam naturally disintegrates over time, the fibers will in the enclosed home atmosphere, and into the residents lungs!!
