We have successfully completed the laying of Stonebase on some parts of the Alagbole-Ajuwon Road, which is currently undergoing rehabilitation. This milestone marks significant progress in the project, providing a solid foundation for the subsequent layers of asphalt. We procured three pothole patching machines, which served as effective tools for temporarily addressing potholes while we awaited the completion of the procurement process for road construction and re-carpeting. We also utilized our county engineers and skilled staff from the Roads Department to maintain county roads, using the bitumen produced at our own facility, which we revived situated on Nanyuki Road.

We inspected Kinanda Road in Kitisuru, Westlands, and spoke to the Nairobi County CEC Transport on why the upgrade of road has not been prioritized. We will write to the County Government, and follow up to ensure that the road, gazetted in 1950 is upgraded to required standards.

This is the current state of the road from Mhondoro, specifically the section between Mubaira and Binda, which I used last week. It is truly disheartening. I remember when I was young, my uncle—the late Governor of Mash West, Cde. Rukarwa—constantly raised the issue of this road. Funds for this road were misused as far back as the 80s My brother, Minister Felix Tapiwa Mhona, has assured Parliament that the government will prioritize this road. However, to this day, nothing has been done. I have spoken in Parliament on multiple occasions, and other MPs, including Mutsa Murombedzi MP🇿🇼 and the local MP, Hon. Chiwanza, have also added their voices. We are now collectively urging the Minister to at least send a grader to make the road usable while we await its full rehabilitation and tarring.

The road construction on Princess Park Street has been progressing quite well and we grateful for the continued support and patience of the community and road users. The final road layer is in progress and it is anticipated that the surfacing be completed by Friday 12 December 2025. The safety of the road users is the core priority and it is for this reason that the Roads and Transport will implement pre-markings and install temporary stop signs for the entire festive season as the road will be open for traffic soon. As the MMC for Roads and Transport I have visited the site on regular basis since the commencement of construction ,to ensure that the set milestones and commitments to the residents of Tshwane are fulfilled.

In the past year alone, we managed to grade and tarmarc a total of 4,000 Kilometres of roads. This year, we intend to tarmac 4 MAJOR ROADS in Mavoko, Yatta, Kathiani and Mwala. Tarmacking of Kincar - Airways road in Muthwani Ward by the County Government of Machakos is complete.

ODE–SAPADE ROAD PHASE 3 NEARS COMPLETION We are pleased to announce that reconstruction works on the Ode–Sapade Road have reached an advanced stage, with Phase Three of the project now nearing completion. Major asphalt works have been delivered across most sections, and the road is visibly taking its final shape as only limited finishing activities remain. Phases One and Two, covering the Sagamu–Iperu axis, were earlier completed and opened to traffic. Phase Three covers the Ode Remo to Sapade stretch and involves full rehabilitation and dualisation of the corridor, including the removal of the old pavement, laying of new asphalt on both carriageways, and the construction of a 200-metre link connecting the road to the Ibadan Expressway, bringing the total length to 5.5 kilometres. We sincerely appreciate the patience and cooperation of residents and road users throughout this period.
