Correct me if I’m wrong but weren’t the crimes by grooming gangs in places like Rochdale & Rotherham committed by brown men?

Teachers already have a duty of safeguarding children, and all suspected abuse or neglect is reported. However, funding for social work services and youth services has been cut. Therefore, it is extremely difficult to get adequate support for children once it has been reported.

Interesting that “The work we should be doing around prevention…” doesn’t include policing, enforcement or targeting the perpetrators. Difficult to understand why you’re irritated by an initiative to tackle grooming gangs other than a suggestion it’s racist to pursue them?

They're only interested in appealing to what they think is the bigotry and prejudice of some voters which they're pinning their election hopes on. I don't think they're really concerned about child abuse at all.
