Harrowing footage shows the moment a Queensland Police officer was assaulted during an arrest on the Gold Coast around 5:30am on Wednesday. Police were called to Greenacre Drive in Parkwood after someone saw a damaged black Lexus with two men asleep inside. As the officers approached the vehicle, they allege the driver became violent towards them, with the passenger immediately fleeing the vehicle. A search of the vehicle located a firearm and ammunition. Two men were taken into custody shortly afterwards, with the female officer being taken to hospital for treatment for a head injury and abrasions.
