designing my new personal site with Pencil.dev connected it to Claude Code and turned on "Swarm Mode" and watched agents design my site in real-time, with their cursors actually moving and operating the screen, not just cosmetically! instead of the agents producing a raw HTML file, they generate something called .pen which is just a json file describing all layouts, components, and design. this means that it's easier than ever to have teams collaborate on design exactly as they do on source code (designers and engineers can now speak the same language!) once you are happy with a screen, you can open a new chat and reference .pen frame and start to generate the code (in React/ Next/ Tailwind etc), and run it on your dev server, producing a live website that visually matches your design

Spent the day testing Claude Opus 4.7. Last month I built a design director agent for OpenClaw and now it cooks. 15 minutes in, Paper Design MCP + Claude Code had made me a rough draft. In under an hour, a Framer worthy site. My workflow: 1. Feed my agent references so it can extract design systems and lock in on my taste 2. Claude Code calls Paper Design MCP to generate the visual system (just keep the Paper app open) 3. Paper exports the assets and Claude Code then preps the build docs 4. Agent loops back, critiques, iterates Got no clue why anyone is paying $10K for a website anymore. It’s easy now.

Reviewing AI-generated code is the new bottleneck. Writing code was slow before. Now, in a few minutes, you can generate virtually unlimited lines of code using AI. But developers are now spending 70% of their time checking that code. That's the new bottleneck. I've been using Cline, and they have a feature that actually helps with this: You can click a button and have Cline generate an inline explanation for every single line of AI-generated code. Take a look at the attached video. What it does: 1. You can read the code and the explanation together 2. You don't lose context while reviewing code 3. You understand the "why" behind each change And here is the best part: It works on any git diff. You can use it to review PRs, understand commits from other people, or catch up on a codebase you haven't touched in a while.

Claude released a new design feature that's great for iOS app design. So I extracted the code and skills and turned it into a skill that can be used by any agent. Since Codex has comments and web preview built in... it works basically the same. (Oh and you can use claude 4.7 if you think it's better at design)

figma "god mode" just leaked.. this week i tried the future of autonomous design: claude connected directly to the figma api with full edit access.. yes it can design in figma what does it mean? you prompt, it designs. it’s like having a team of designers inside figma working with you and 10x ing your capacity ​why is this different? ​official figma ai/mcp only "reads" files to help devs. this tool (unofficial MCP) "writes" in figma to replace manual labor. hours of grinding turned into seconds of waiting ​imagine this: - ​prompt to design: generate a new screen based on your design or not - prompt to flow: generate end to end user journeys - iteration: create multiple variations in one click - design system: it can use your components to create new screens - ​zero click management: auto layout, component creation, deduplication handled by prompt - ​universal control: if you can do it in figma, it can do it for you ​the impact ​if figma officially releases this, almost every existing plugin becomes obsolete overnight it feels like figma on steroids. i’m still processing whether i feel empowered or replaced ​full tutorial in this article from Mark A. Claude Code is terrible at UI design and everyone knows it so this guy fixed it by building an MCP that gives Claude its own AI design tool instead of going back and forth between a design platform and your code editor, Claude now creates the designs itself and drops them straight into your codebase the MCP has full context of your existing design system and project so everything it generates actually matches what you already have. one command to set up and it installs the MCP and skill files so Claude instantly knows how to use it if you're tired of the same Inter font, purple gradient, card grid layout on every project, this is definitely worth trying

Been using Paper MCP with Claude Code today and I’m kind of blown away! I tested importing Figma designs, then iterating on them using live Supabase data (via MCP). It genuinely feels like a glimpse of where design is heading. would love Paper to add something like agentation from Benji Taylor, so Claude Code can target frames and layers directly.
