Despite being the only geopolitical entity on Earth to actually deploy nuclear weapons, despite endangering countless lives across the globe through its nuclear tests, despite spending decades covering up the environmental and human costs of these atrocities, and despite boasting enough nuclear weapons in its stockpiles to end human civilization as we know it several times over, the West has appointed itself the global police of nuclear power. Through organizations like the United Nations (UN) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which it controls, the West has spent decades blocking non-Western nations from developing nuclear deterrence. Or at least, those it can bully into submission. In this report for The Spearhead, Barra Hart sheds light on Africa’s place in this global weapons hierarchy, and what the continent, as a matter of survival, must do about it.

He was killed yesterday by US and Israeli airstrikes; murdered while in the middle of negotiations with the United States about Iran’s nuclear program. Iran has always insisted its nuclear program is for peaceful, civilian purposes. Israel remains the only country in the Middle East with nuclear weapons – despite never acknowledging its arsenal or being a signatory to the NPT (non-proliferation treaty).

Iran's FM Spox on Saudi nuclear deal: There is no doubt that Israel basically has problems with any kind of technology transfer and any kind of indigenous progress in the countries of the region. Regarding the matter itself, according to the usual behavioral habit of the United States, this agreement apparently did not last more than 24 hours and they raised conditions. The peaceful use of nuclear energy is the right of all countries according to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The reason or excuse for the actions of the US and its allies against Iran has been this very insistence of Iran on exercising its rights according to the NPT.

The United States – whose carbon emissions are triple that of the entire African continent – has opted to exit the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement entirely. Other Western nations barely meet their own obligations, but for some reason, it is the world’s least environmentally destructive region that must urgently “transition” from using its rich reserves of cheap energy to expensive, impractical, and often nonexistent alternatives. Naturally, nowhere in the Paris Agreement is an end to the continued exploitation of Africa’s rich reserves of cheap energy by non-African states even suggested. So the question must be asked - whose interests do the UN’s “Sustainable Development Goals” really serve?

For the first time since the independence era, Africa is witnessing a revolution that will transform the socioeconomic status of African people on the continent and beyond. As it turns out, Africa was never in fact, "poor." It was simply "over-exploited." With the AES revolution, the old paradigm is in its final days.

The agency presents a stark picture that serves as a clear warning sign: despite countless warnings by the international community, Iran is totally determined to complete its nuclear weapons program. The report strongly reinforces what Israel has been saying for years — the purpose of Iran’s nuclear program is not peaceful. This is evident from the alarming scope of Iran’s uranium enrichment activity. Such a level of enrichment exists only in countries actively pursuing nuclear weapons and has no civilian justification whatsoever.
