When President Trump says reciprocal tariffs - he means reciprocal tariffs and if Alberta leaves Canada the tariffs will be zero for Alberta and zero for the USA. They will be wide open for American banks and financial institutions. AND - Alberta won't have Ottawa doing everything they can to shut down oil production for the benefit of Communist China.

The Premier did not say she would campaign against Alberta sovereignty in the event of a referendum. Her answer in French matches exactly what she told me at the UCP AGM: She supports Alberta sovereignty within a united Canada, and she reiterated that position, nothing more. CBC has now quietly updated its article and added a correction stating the Premier did not specify which side she would take. In fact, the Premier also said Thomas Lukaszuk’s petition is a referendum on separation, not sovereignty within Canada.
