This is the referendum that Australia did not have to have. The proposal – and the process – should have been designed to unite Australians, not divide them. What we have seen is Australians in their millions reject the Prime Minister’s divisive referendum. The Coalition, like all Australians, want to see Indigenous disadvantage addressed. We must redouble efforts to improve outcomes for Indigenous Australians in disadvantaged communities and to close the gap. That includes an urgent need to boost law and order, school attendance and employment in many remote communities. To translate this abundance of rainfall into availability of drinking water for communities, in 2024, ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, the CSR arm of ICICI Bank, stepped in by introducing the Springwater Harvesting System. Through this initiative, water from hilltop springs is diverted through pipelines, collected and stored in tanks, filtered, and then distributed to nearby homes.
