LINGUISTIC IMPERIALISM Linguistic imperialism is the process whereby dominant powers impose their language on those they colonise, suppressing indigenous languages and thus marginalising their speakers and sustaining power inequalities. Indigenous languages in colonial Africa were frowned upon, while colonial languages were made mandatory. In Anglophone Africa, policies were all written in English; media and broadcasting used English; and there were many systemic policies forbidding the use of indigenous languages. For example, students in many Kenyan schools were punished for using any other languages, with most of these punishments involving shaming tactics such as the wearing of bones from dead animals as chains around the neck. We know that many people are afraid for their own future, for their economic foundations, and for their social security. Since yesterday, another fear has been added for many people: that our country is changing for the worse — especially when it comes to the firm anchoring of our values and our democracy in society. That is why I want to focus all our efforts, together with the SPD in the coalition, on developing a new and better — how should I put it — narrative, a better overarching explanation of why we believe these reforms are necessary and right.

Aid terms and conditions must comme from the people. Communities must determine their most pressing needs and only then can well meaning aid givers come to the party. 3. Most agencies are interested in getting quick results while overlooking the human element in development projects. When you work with human beings you cannot operate in technical and systematic cold fashion. 4. We must look into who creates hunger and who sustains that hunger, the national and International forces with a negative impact on different communities. 5. Assistance must be given on our own terms, we must determine that kind of help we need. 6. Before participating in a community development project, we must first understand that community's perceptions of its needs. 7. On the basis of the community's description of its needs we can use our communication and technical expertise only for the purposes of complementing existing capabilities. 8. We must be clear that development highlights a community's struggle to develop itself. Development is community participation in breaking away from all kinds of dependency, economically or otherwise to attain self reliance. The role of the expert is to increase capability of the focus group. 9. Education is divided between education for LIBERATION and education for DOMINATION. In the case of the latter, self proclaimed development experts like IMF are divorced from the realities of communities where thy they impose their aid programmes. The communities are always left poor ,disempowered and more prone to continued domination. 10. The role of tbe researcher is to provide social analysis, make people aware that when a certain area or community is underdeveloped it is not always because the community members are lazy. Due to historical colonization of Africa by Europe, the question of monocultures has been created such as in Senegal where people were forced to produce rubber while they were experiencing a problem of hunger. 11. There are national forces and international forces that impact lives. International forces like IMF and World Bank impose themselves on governments and enforce anti-development loan or aid conditions. Loans from IMF and World Bank must be rejected as they are not meant to support the livelihoods of our people especially the poorer classes. 12. Researchers have a duty to bring this information to communities so that they develop an understanding of the machinations of different forces with regards to development, how the world functions,and how that affects our situation. 13. Researchers must present data to communities, allow those communities to evaluate the data and give their input so that they don't become objects of research. That is the only effective way of mobilizing for the material and intellectual development of people. Anything else opposite to that will render the researcher an agent of imperialism. 14. The structural cause of hunger in Africa is land pressure which is a product of white colonizers taking all the productive arable land and pushing our people to the dry reserves. Colonizers did not come with civilization, even when you go to the most remote of areas where people have to access to modern sources of agriculture information, in their own rudimentary ways the people know about the differences in soil types and their suitability for certain kinds of crops. The view that Africans don't understand their land is an ugly lie. 15. The role of the researcher is to compliment existing knowledge and share information on organisations that control our lives such as IMF and World Bank. 16. There must be a balance between monetary inputs and communication inputs bearing in mind that in all development projects, our people must attain intellectual development too. 17. Part of the struggle for social and economic justice is say NO to any forms of outside dominance.

The Baloch nation has resolved to determine its own future and believes it is fully capable of managing its own resources, designing its own development policies, and shaping its own destiny. Today, the Pakistani military is facing widespread public resistance in Balochistan. History has shown that when an occupying foreign force is confronted with sustained resistance from the local population, wise nations choose to withdraw rather than continue their occupation. Today, Islamabad's military, backed by financial assistance from the United States, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and China, continues to bombard the Baloch people. However, it should remember that victory is not determined by rifles, artillery, or fighter jets. True victory belongs to those nations whose roots are deeply embedded in their homeland and firmly strengthened by the support of their people. The roots of the Baloch nation are deeply anchored in the soil of Balochistan, sustained by the strength and support of its people. In contrast, soldiers of the Pakistani military are deployed to Balochistan in exchange for a monthly salary of a few thousand rupees, where they are participating in the genocide of the Baloch people. By contrast, Pakistan is a 78 years old artificial buffer zone, invented by the British and sustained through a mercenary military structure. So the next course of action and something that they are willing to entertain is if you are an intelligence official or have knowledge of locations of materials and in doing our due diligence and following up with the task force they are considering and I do believe that they are going to be providing immunity permanently so that people can't be hit with a violation of the espionage act. So again there's a lot of people that have a lot of information but it's really can we prove it and what information can we then bring forward to the American people.”

Former Nigerian Governor: Africans Are Still Being Sold Into Slavery The period of direct European colonial presence in Africa is known by African historians as the Maafa – a Kiswahili word which means “Great Disaster”. It is so called because of the terror and destruction that defined this period. Africa’s indigenous development was interrupted, its monuments vandalized, its treasures looted, its knowledge systems suppressed and its history distorted by parasites who had no interest in “civilizing” anyone. Today, many Africans live under the dangerous illusion that this nearly 500-year reign of terror ended sometime in the 1960s. In this iconic address, made during the proceedings of the 1994/1995 National Constitutional Conference in Nigeria, former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Nigeria, Mathias Offoboche (1936 – 2015) lays bare the truth that far too many Africans either do not know, or refuse to accept. What disgusts me in the American narrative is the imperial mindset beneath it, because every time Iran strikes American assets they rush to tell us it must be Russia, as though the peoples of this region have no agency, no intelligence services, no military knowledge, no strategic thought, and no capacity to develop weapons or hit targets without a foreign brain instructing them. I reject that completely. Iran has built its own capabilities, its own intelligence networks, and its own deterrence architecture, and this constant attempt to deny that reality is dehumanization, a way of saying that only the empire and its approved powers can possess knowledge, while the rest of the world is treated as backward people who must either be ruled, explained, or destroyed.
