Thank you for this. My prayer life stagnated when I could no longer pray at a stretch. The stagnation came not because I couldn't pray but because it sent me into a guilt cycle for not being able to pray like I used to when I was younger until I learned what you just said.

In my teens and early 20s, I was very active. I would pray from morning till evening, go out for preaching, and study the Bible for hours. I am very grateful for all that, because it gave me a foundation at an early stage. However, I grew cold at late 20s, as I began building back my spiritual fellowship, I told God to restore me. The image I had in my mind was everything I was when I was younger. So now, 1hr-2hrs was not progress for me. I wanted more. I was praying in my room walking around and telling God to renew me as I always do, then I heard clearly, "You had better start enjoying and relishing every moment you spend in fellowship". After that, I started understanding that things have significantly changed from how they used to be, and I cannot hold on to that image of 5 to 8hrs service and fellowship. Ever since then, I had peace.
