For the second day in a row, Russia is terrorizing Kharkiv with drones. Today they were buzzing over the city almost nonstop. The question is not how long Kharkiv can resist. The question is how we stop this.

The team had a great meeting with the Mayor of Kharkiv today. We discussed our mission in Kharkiv, US veterans working together with Ukrainian veterans for a mine free Ukraine and Kharkiv. Also learned how connected the Mayor is with Dallas and found out something new. Kharkiv is the sister city of Dallas, TX. The world is a small place because we are having our first annual gala in Dallas May 31st raising awareness and funds for mine-action in Kharkiv. Today, air raid sirens across Ukraine have sounded almost the entire day. Overnight, there was yet another Russian attack with missiles and drones—ballistic strikes and more than 140 attack drones in a single night. It was loud in Kyiv and in other cities. Tragically, there are wounded and killed. My condolences to all the families affected. Rescue efforts continue all day in Kharkiv, Sumy, and the capital. It is entirely fair that the Russian sky—the sky of the aggressor—is not calm either today. Ukraine’s proposal for a ceasefire of at least 30 days still stands, we are not withdrawing it, as it offers a real chance for diplomacy. But it is Russia that the world sees giving no answer—no response except for new strikes. This clearly and obviously shows who is the source of this war. Russia must end its aggression—and it will have to. The only question is time. War is a loss for everyone, including the aggressor.

🚨Despite all the screaming headlines yesterday claiming that UA supposedly agreed to the demilitarization of the Donbas region (which was already debunked by the UA Presidential Office), Zelenskyy is in the city of Kupyansk today, Kharkiv region. I’m attaching a map of the fighting so you can see how close it is to the RU border and the frontline itself. Kupyansk is a city in Kharkiv Oblast. Today, UA military forces reported that they have completely cleared the city of RU infiltration attempts: “The Ukrainian army in the Kharkiv region has reached the Oskil River north of Kupyansk, fully blocking land routes for the invaders to enter the city.” They have cleared the entire northwestern outskirts. Today, Zelenskyy visited the city himself, stating: “Right now, it’s extremely important to achieve results on the front so that Ukraine can achieve results in diplomacy. That’s how it works: all our strong positions at home translate into strong positions in talks about ending the war.”
