Poilievre promises, as the Prime Minister in waiting, to unite Canada by helping Alberta resources get to global markets, while removing other irritants. Does Pierre Poilievre intend to end equalization in Canada? I am not so sure he is because the CPC would lose votes in Quebec.

Never once does Charlie mention the Quebec separatist movement. The BQ have been talking about having a referendum after the 2026 Provincial election since 2025. Never once does he call for the BQ to be expelled from Parliament, for promoting a sovereign Quebec, in the Canadian House of Commons. But you can be sure many Canadians will ignore this double standard.

At the same time Quebec takes in huge sums of taxes from the rest of Canada through a rigged equalization formula that gives Quebec over $13 billion every year in “equalization”. This despite Quebec having a comparable economic strength to British Columbia, which is forced to pay into equalization. Quebec gets to hide their #1 source of natural revenue (Hydro) from the equalization formula, making them poor on paper only. Quebec also gets extra Canadian taxpayer cash for… 💰Immigration 💰Heritage 💰Culture 💰Languages 💰French only government jobs 💰Corporate bailouts 💰SNC Lavalin contracts across 🇨🇦 Meanwhile Quebec demands the rest of Canada shift away from oil & gas to Quebec approve clean energy. This directly hurts Alberta and the rest of Canada that relies on equalization payments, to keep their Provinces from becoming super poor. A referendum Quebec lost by 1% of the vote. 🌹The Alberta independence movement needs to pay very close attention to what happened before the 1995 Quebec referendum. I have warned everyone the Liberals have not only weaponized immigration to win elections, but now use international votes to swing close ridings they would otherwise lose. When Bill C-3 is in full force it will be next to impossible to have a credible election in Canada, under our current electoral process. It's just too easy to rig elections far beyond any non partisan oversight. Our democracy has become an illusion.

Bloc Quebecois' Yves-François Blanchet is "fiercely opposed" against *any kind* of transport of hydrocarbons from Western Canada. He says it doesn't serve Quebec and doesn't think there is a future in western Canada's hydrocarbons. Quebec has gotten hundreds of billions of dollars in equalization thanks to these hydrocarbons and will get $13B this year again. Quebec will be a 3rd world country without it. Time to let the parasite separate. If he thinks his green projects make Quebec rich then it would be better off without Canada and we will cut out losses. We can't build a prosperous country with people like this holding projects and then politicians needed to pander to them for votes.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith does a fantastic jobs breaking it down: "I cannot think of a more disastrous policy decision than cutting off or taxing Alberta's oil to the United States." > US will respond with a 50%–100% tariff on fuels supplied to Ontario and Quebec. > US refineries would replace Alberta heavy crude with Venezuelan oil, cutting Canada off as a supplier permanently. > At least 500,000 jobs would be wiped out across Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. > Retaliatory US cuts to gasoline and diesel exports would leave eastern Canada stranded without fuel right as fall and winter begin. > Canada has no reserves to supply Ontario and Quebec. > The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) would nose-dive, devastating Canadian investments, and pensions. What most Canadians don't seem to realize is that the current oil prices is generating substantial taxes for governments that softens the blow of the tariffs, and big portion of it comes from the US.

I had a meeting with representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Canada, and the Netherlands to NATO and praised their countries’ contributions to our defense. We are grateful to Germany for the Patriot systems, to the United States for the opportunity to purchase weapons and air defense systems through the PURL initiative, to the United Kingdom and France for the missiles, to Canada and the Netherlands for their contributions to the PURL initiative, and to all other countries for their assistance. This support truly saves lives of our people, and it is very important that new countries join the initiative. We discussed opportunities to strengthen the protection of our energy system ahead of winter: the purchase of air defense systems and missiles for them, as well as the reinforcement of our tactical aviation. We also discussed the importance of maintaining sanctions against Russia and other key pressure points to compel it to end the war.
