Media will never tell you that EFF members of parliament stopped the ANC and DA GNU from blacklisting young professionals who owe NSFAS money. If it was not for the EFF, this GNU of ANC and DA was going to sell NSFAS debts to Banks and White owned financial companies. Our youth was going to either swim in debts or get blacklisted. Thank you Sihle Lonzi and all EFF members of parliament who fought for our youths. You will not see this on TV and Newspapers because they don't want people to know the good work that EFF is doing in parliament. Before the formation of EFF people were not interested in Parliament. Sfiso will be voting for the very first time in the 2026 Local Government Elections! Our most urgent task is to register young people to vote. The Organization for Undoing Tax Abuse (OUTA) makes such a strange and confused argument here. On the one hand Wayne Duvenage argues that the Minister of Finance has followed all that is required in terms of the Money Bills and Parliament to increase the General Fuel Levy - but then in some strange way goes on to say he does not need to. Regardless, it’s all not true. 1. The Standing Committee on Finance is sitting today and tomorrow to consider whether to accept or amend the fiscal framework - wherein the fuel levy hike proposal lies. Yet it takes effect on the 4th of June 2025. 2. The National Assembly sits on the 11th of June 2025 to accept or reject the budget. 3. The Minister of Finance argues in his own papers that he does not need to introduce a Money Bill to effect an adjustment to the fuel levy which is a method of taxation - effectively saying he holds the right to impose taxation without representation using the Customs and Excise Act. He goes on to say that a fuel levy increase is a lesser evil to VAT - All of this is massive disinformation.
