These dams have not been a problem for over a hundred years. There have been fish, power and water. The same plan was used for the Klamath River. The Klamath river dams were set for removal that very year. The farm ditch water was shut off due to flows. The fish are in decline. That is true. In the 90s, the international waters were moved closer to our coastlines. The fish can't get away. The giant international boats scoop the fish up. It's. It's incredible. During the same time we lost funding for our fish hatcheries. The PG dams are getting sued. That's why they're not profitable. We're not being told the whole truth. Norbert was our Beaver. He changed our creek and our lives. We miss him (or her) dearly, but what Norbert left us will last forever. That’s why I will always push back on misinformation and stand up for science, our Forest Service workers, and the importance of Tribal, state, and private forestry partnerships. We need to invest in real solutions—not partisan games.

A year ago a beaver moved onto our farm. He/she quickly started making dams. We let the beaver be a beaver- it wasn’t hurting anything and the journey we have been on has been amazing. We have learned so much more about beavers, our appreciation for them has grown. Beavers are keystone species. They reshape water ways to make ecosystems more diverse and able to withstand droughts and fires. Our tiny creek which was a trickle is now a true creek, with ponds behind the dams. Beavers are misunderstood. They were killed and hunted to near extinction or at least extirpation in many places. We are thrilled to share Norbert with everyone.
