Beavers create dams in streams that are destructive to local properties and disturb down stream ecosystems that depend on the water. Here one of the dams is removed.

Isn't the Beaver dam part of the natural ecosystem?

Stop fukn building by their fukn home then.. they're building dams to help create ecosystems and wildlife areas for animals to thrive and survive..

When we had a drought one year, the beaver dams along the river were the only places left with pools of water for the animals to drink.

Who claimed domain first, the beaver or the McMansion subdivision?

@CRRJA5 Poor lil guys worked their tail off to build. Gone in seconds.

Beaver dams disrupt HUMAN property plans. They benefit the environment; settling sediments, providing water storage, raising groundwater levels, etc. Look around you... All the flat bottom valleys, good soil and the human-managed creek digging its way to bedrock... Lowering groundwater. The best bottom-land exists because beavers.

We used to use det cord on the dams. Now that was exciting and super fun!

This is what I do with the beaver and otters that mess with my property...winter of 2024/2025

Those dams slow rain runoff and prevent flooding

The beavers don’t destroy anything, they are doing what they were designed to do.

I understand why, but that’s heartbreaking too, imagine what this country looked like before the beaver were trapped out.

You can't convince me that a beavers damn disrupts the ecosystem down stream. Example, before dam water flows at 1000gl/hr. After dam. Water backs up, creates drinking pond, fishing hole, then overflows at 1000gl/hr. Down stream is the same

There was a brook trout pond with a beaver damn like this I used to fish when I was a kid. Mind you this pond and dam were on public land, no buildings, infrastructure or anything for miles and miles...literally out in the boonies. I fished that dam for one season, by the next spring the DNR had come in and blown the damn up for no reason other than they simply didn't want it there. It wasn't restricting the creeks flow because it was simply a small spring feeding it but mostly filled from snow run-off initially. Some of the best fishing I ever experienced and it was the biggest dam I ever saw too, twice as tall as I was at that time.

Nothing wrong with a pond! 🤣🤣🤣

The C4 version gets it done quick.

It's good for ecosystems to have the water slowed down..it helps prevent drought and keeps people wells running all summer..it takes water many years to infiltrate all the way to the water table..unless it's flooding your house leave them

Beavers save lives and eco systems. You are horrible people

Dam beavers

@janninereid1 Wow, why is he destroying it?

Years ago I parked off the highway in Idaho to eat a sandwich and I saw about 10 beavers building a dam. Those little guys are really cute. I ended up staying there until it got dark.

Neighbor called the DEC on me, claimed my Koi pond caused the stream down the road to get blocked Dumbass agent they sent to investigate asked me what was going on, I explained that it was either a beaver or me that gnawed the trees down to build the dam

Beavers just do things that certain people like you don't like. Water can still make it downstream, just in a different manner. The dams they build are important for nature otherwise beavers wouldn't exist.

@CRRJA5 But they are so cute!

Cyclic beaver dam flooding is good for ecosystem. but bad for people

@Gitmo99 They’re doing what they do! Can’t blame the beavers 🤷♀️.

All I got to say is leave it to beavers. And damn, after watching that I have to go pee LOL young Dave 17 San Diego

Utter nonsense. The dam does zero to the flow of water at all.

The folks around there should feed the beavers so they build more damns so that these small hatcheries and watering holes are created throughout the system in many places.

Beavers are in far more harmony than excavators.

And the beavers say fuck that I’m making a damn don’t build you homes there

Beavers are also beneficial to the environment.

We have a spot where they build by the bridge to town. The poor guy who has the property that meets the river has a 2 acre pond on the regular. Has to do exactly this all the time. It's pretty though Lilly pads are everywhere when it's full.

Yet in certain times and places they are a benefit to the overall ecosystem, isn't that nuts?

"Destructive to local properties." Proceeds to destroy beaver dam and destroy upstream ecosystem.
