🚨 A SERIOUS QUESTION XENOPHOBES KEEP DODGING... 🤔🚸 These young girls might actually have a point. If you're saying every undocumented foreigner with children born or raised here must leave, what happens to those kids? Who raises them? Who feeds them? Who pays for school fees? Or is the plan to solve one problem by creating another? Sometimes our debates sound like they're written on a placard instead of thought through. It's easy to chant slogans. It's much harder to explain what happens to the children caught in the middle. The immigration debate is real, but so are the lives of innocent kids. Policies should solve problems, not leave toddlers attending family meetings wondering who's picking them up tomorrow. 😅 Remember, these children didn't choose where they were born or who their parents are. That's the part we shouldn't forget.

Since the NPP’s blame of COVID-19 for Ghana’s economic issues won’t go away, I took a few minutes of my presentation on TV3 this morning to address it. The pandemic undeniably impacted economies globally, but the extent of the damage matters. For instance, why did Ghana’s fiscal balance deteriorate so much compared to other countries in the sub-region? Before COVID-19, Ghana’s deficit wasn’t the worst in sub-Saharan Africa and was closer to the regional average. So what changed in 2020? Could election-related spending have played a role? The IMF later identified the 2020 elections as a factor in Ghana’s fiscal situation.

This is what I always emphasise, the real solution to ending illegal immigration lies in addressing the unresolved political issues in neighbouring countries. Over US$100,000 in cash was found in the apartments, indicating that money laundering is occurring not only in South Africa but in the surrounding countries as well. Tyrants like Emmerson Mnangagwa, who have destroyed their countries' economies, are driving illegal immigration in South Africa. Addressing the root cause instead of just the symptoms will ensure a lasting solution. Those detained today will likely return tomorrow, I call it a revolving door. South Africa needs a lasting solution, not cosmetic measures that won’t solve the issue! Addressing the underlying factors that drive people to leave their home countries, such as the actions of tyrants like Emmerson Mnangagwa, is essential for preventing further waves of illegal immigration. Today, Zimbabwe has over 100 political prisoners, some of whom have been severely tortured, which has delayed its readmission into the Commonwealth. Some of these individuals won’t feel safe and will leave Zimbabwe for South Africa once they are released from prison. So, fixing the inherent and deep rooted political problems is key to South Africa having no headaches about illegal immigration. There is a platform for South Africa to get this fixed, SADC, why is the South African government not doing it?

When the mother is questioning, burqa clad teachers are trying to brush it off saying it might be by mistake. How is it by mistake every day? Hindu auto driver is not allowed to write a quote on his property, but Muslim teachers can force Hindu children to write Kalma every day. No one will outrage. We received a complaint from an organisation called Seva Nyaya Utthan Foundation alleging that a school in Hyderabad is discriminating against children on religious grounds.
