“The UK will deploy our Carrier Strike Group to the North Atlantic and the High North this year, led by HMS Prince of Wales.” But can we even sustain a Carrier Strike Group in the High North, given the proportion of the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force the Indo-Pacific deployment took? HMS Queen Elizabeth has been in dry dock for most of last year and we need a new icebreaker to support/replace HMS Protector. This is a significant commitment and one that indicates, alongside the expanded Commando deployment in the Arctic, that the strategic focus has now shifted. Whilst our security to the north is vital, this is also a helpful respite for Keir Starmer to look strong on NATO. It would not be a surprise if the much delayed Defence Investment Plan now sees the Royal Navy come out as the big winner with regards to investment in capability.

General "Raizin" Caine, details the precision extraction mission in Venezuela: "Over the course of the night, aircraft began launching from 20 different bases on land and sea across the Western Hemisphere. In total, more than 150 aircraft, bombers, fighters, intelligence, reconnaissance, surveillance, rotary wing, were in the air last night. "Our youngest crew member was 20 and our oldest crew member was 49. And there's simply no match for American military might. As the night began, the helicopters took off with the extraction force, which included law enforcement officers, and began their flight into Venezuela at 100 feet above the water. As they approached Venezuelan shores, the United States began layering different effects provided by SPACECOM, CYBERCOM, and other members of the inter-agency to create a pathway. "Overhead, those forces were protected from aircraft- were protected by aircraft from the United States Marines, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force, and the Air National Guard. The force included F-22s, F-35s, F-18s, EA-18s, E-2s, B-1 bombers, and other support aircraft, as well as numerous remotely piloted drones. As the force began to approach Caracas, the joint air component began dismantling and disabling the air defense systems in Venezuela, employing weapons to ensure the safe passage of the helicopters into the target area. "The goal of our air component is, was, and always will be to protect the helicopters and the ground force, and get them to the target, and get them home. As the force crossed the last point of high terrain where they'd been hiding in the clutter, we assessed that we had maintained totally the element of surprise. There was an operation launched by STF (Special Task Force) Assam, in July...Once questioning and inquiries took place it was very apparent that this is a matter which is a national security concern and has interstate ramifications. From day one the matter has been looked at and guided by our Chief Minister and the highest formations of the land were wise to decide that the case be sent to NIA and the Government of Assam requested the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to transfer one of these cases to the NIA. The NIA took up the case and began an investigation. There's been a collaborative effort of the NIA with us and in this collaborative effort, we were able to put together a list of touts from across the country. Today morning in the wee hours an operation was launched across many states by the NIA with the Assam Police and a total of 47 such touts and middlemen who were running this racket have been caught. 25 from Tripura, 5 from Assam, 3 from West Bengal, 9 from Karnataka, 1 from Haryana, 1 from Telangana and 3 from Tamil Nadu..."

Indonesia arrives on the scene In the last 5 years alone, Indonesia has finalized the purchase of no less than 84 modern fighter jets: 42 Rafale and 42 J-10C. However, nothing compares to the strides made by the Indonesian Navy. The country acquired 8 modern frigates and 2 battery-powered electric submarines - with Tot- in a Naval Group configuration that allows for submergence periods of up to 80 days. Indonesia, alongside Japan and Germany, now becomes one of the sole operators of this new generation of submarines. Including smaller vessels, the nation has closed deals for approximately 20 ships in these last 5 years alone. To build the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) capabilities of this fleet and support army operations, nearly 100 reconnaissance and combat drones were purchased, with a highlight on 60 Bayraktar units. This is joined by the acquisition of Turkish ballistic missiles with technology transfer, as well as at least 2 to 3 models of Turkish and Chinese anti-ship missiles. The country acquired 8 modern frigates and 2 battery-powered electric submarines - with Tot- in a Naval Group configuration that allows for submergence periods of up to 80 days. Indonesia, alongside Japan and Germany, now becomes one of the sole operators of this new generation of submarines. On the Bulabulin Forest axis, troops of Sector 2 in conjunction with elements of Sector 2 Stabilisation Force Brigade and the Civilian Joint Task Force cleared terrorist enclaves at Mar, Subdu, Yaro Lawanti and Yaro Shuwari as well as other areas contiguous to the Bulabulin Forest and the Kamadogu Yobe stretch.
