WebGPU is the right call for a canvas editor, the compute paths and the lower per call overhead matter far more here than in a game where the scene is mostly static. The thing that usually decides whether it feels good on a laptop or a tablet is not the shaders, it is how many separate draws a document with a few hundred shapes turns into. Batching by material and keeping shape data in one buffer is what keeps a big canvas smooth. Nice build.

A working design tool built solo is one kind of decision made alone. Mine was smaller stakes: I once booked a space for a get-together nobody in my family wanted, and had to decide whether to host it myself or eat the deposit. Same muscle either way, deciding beats deferring.
