Floorcrosser Marilyn Gladu nowhere to be found on Canada Day Marilyn Gladu once said that the whole point of being a member of Parliament is 'to represent your constituents' — and yet she got a clear mandate to represent them as a Conservative. No wonder she doesn't want to show her face. On July 1, Canada Day, speculation percolated in Sarnia, Ont.: Would Conservative-now-Liberal MP Marilyn Gladu show up for the parade? Spoiler alert: Gladu the turncoat was mercifully absent. In April, Gladu became the fifth floor-crosser to join the Mark Carney Liberals. But Gladu’s crossing was surely the most shocking. We say this because Gladu was perhaps the single most conservative MP in the entire Conservative Party. For example, she was openly pro-life and pushed to reopen the abortion debate. She unapologetically backed the truckers and the Freedom Convoy, and she was against the COVID-19 forced vaccinations and lockdowns. Gladu is (or was) the polar opposite of a Liberal. Gladu joining the Liberals would be akin to climate change kook Stephen Guilbeault joining the Conservatives. It’s that crazy. And talk about hypocrisy: Marilyn Gladu once said that the whole point of being a member of Parliament is “to represent your constituents.” In that regard, in the last federal election, the constituents of Sarnia-Lambton gave Gladu a clear mandate when she ran for re-election as a Conservative. Galdu captured 53.1% of the vote versus 37.9% for the Liberal candidate. Amazingly, Gladu recently voiced strong opinions about those MPs who decided to cross the floor. If such a thing happens, Gladu said, then voters “deserve a chance to have a redo.” But as the saying goes, that was then, and this is now. She is no longer keen on a “redo” byelection in her riding. Why? Because she’d likely lose in a landslide. And in the department of plenty of blame to go around, the Mark Carney Liberals seemingly have absolutely no problem welcoming Gladu into the fold, even though she is the sort of Conservative who would be mocked by the Liberals for her viewpoints. This is the same party that has a policy that blocks pro-life candidates from running under the Liberal banner. But yet again, that was then, and this is now as Mark Carney remains committed to getting that coveted majority government — a majority the Canadian electorate denied him in last year’s federal election (but seriously, who cares what the little people have to say?). So the Liberals will park their principles when it comes to Carney manufacturing the political equivalent of a hostile takeover. On July 1, we visited Sarnia to see if Gladu would indeed show up for the town’s Canada Day parade. Speculation was rife that she would attend as she always had in the past. Alas, it turned out that Gladu was a no-show. Imagine that: The sitting MP did not dare show her face in her own riding on July 1. Was it due to fear that the Sarnia Canada Day parade would turn into a modern-day version of Cersei’s “walk of shame” from Game of Thrones? We think so, given the understandable rage amongst constituents regarding her shocking betrayal…

Former Conservative MP Gladu facing fierce backlash after joining Carney Liberals Sarnia, Ont., is home to a massive petrochemical industry. It is also home to the latest floor-crosser: Conservative-now-Liberal MP Marilyn Gladu. Gladu is the fifth floor-crosser in as many months. But Gladu’s crossing is surely the most shocking. She unapologetically backed the truckers and the Freedom Convoy. And she was against the COVID-19 forced vaccinations and lockdowns. Gladu is (or was) the polar opposite of a Liberal. And in the department of plenty of blame to go around, the Mark Carney Liberals seemingly have absolutely no problem welcoming Gladu into the fold even though she is the sort of Conservative who would be mocked by the Liberals for her viewpoints. As well, this is the same party that has a policy that blocks pro-life candidates from running under the Liberal banner. But again, that was then and this is now as Mark Carney remains committed to getting that coveted majority government – a majority the Canadian electorate denied him in last year’s federal election (but seriously, who cares what the little people have to say?) So it is that the Liberals will park their principles when it comes to Carney manufacturing the political equivalent of a hostile takeover. Last weekend, we visited the riding of Sarnia-Lambton to see what the people in this border city have to say. Most said they were shocked and angry. And not only did we meet people who voted for Gladu in the last election, but we spoke with others who were volunteers on Gladu’s last campaign and donors. Said one miffed man: “I want my money back.” For what it’s worth, here’s the official statement by Gladu as to why she changed her allegiances: "Dear citizens of Sarnia—Lambton—Bkejwanong, “The past year has been like no other that Canada has ever faced, and I’ve heard clearly from constituents that you want serious leadership and a real plan to build a stronger and more independent Canadian economy. “That is why I have decided to join Prime Minister Mark Carney and Canada’s new government as the newest member of his caucus. It is a privilege to have served as your Member of Parliament for more than a decade, and I have made a choice to do the best thing for our community’s priorities, and importantly, for our country. “The experience I gained working globally across many sectors will be important to help our Prime Minister continue to deliver on the big priorities he is driving forward: To build the nation at speeds not seen before, create jobs for a prosperous future, build our defence, diversify our trade, build more homes, help lower costs for Canadians, and combat crime. I believe that these are the priorities many of you share, and I’m ready to work with Prime Minister Carney to build a stronger, more independent, and more competitive Canadian economy. “I know that you also want to see more direct support from your federal government at this crucial moment for our local and national economy, and I will be working relentlessly to advocate for the projects, priorities, and prosperity that our communities are counting on. “Sarnia—Lambton was always a bellwether riding, meaning that whoever our community elected as MP was typically in government. That was true for 52 years before the citizens here elected me four times, throughout which I have served in Opposition and done my best to advocate strongly for you. Today, there is both the opportunity – and the responsibility – to build our country’s strength and success with a more constructive, collaborative approach. “That is the approach I will advance as the newest member of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s team in government, as we work together to build a brighter future for all in a stronger Canada.” Suffice to say, nobody is buying that explanation. We visited Gladu’s constituency office. It was empty. A note affixed to the door said it was closed and “sorry for the inconvenience.” “Inconvenience” indeed… And yet, the questions arise: what really made Gladu betray her constituents? What did Carney offer her, be it money or a potential cabinet position? Or did the Liberals dredge up something unsavoury about Gladu, threatening to end her political career? Who knows? And perhaps we’ll never know the truth unless an insider comes forward. But one thing is certain: the vast majority of Sarnians we spoke with feel bitter about Gladu’s betrayal. All things considered, we fully understand their bitterness. REPORT by David Menzies:

Marilyn Gladu said floor crossers should face voters — now she won't If you believe something strongly enough to say it out loud… you’d better be ready to live by it. Marilyn Gladu set the standard herself. She said the whole point of being a member of Parliament “is to represent your constituents.” That switching sides in the House of Commons isn't “representing what you’re supposed to be there to represent.” She even suggested that voters who elected MPs for a certain party “deserve a chance to have a redo” if their supposed representative crosses the floor. So let’s apply it to her. Gladu was elected as a Conservative in Sarnia—Lambton. She was no fence-sitter; she was one of the most reliably Conservative MPs in the country. She backed the truckers and the Freedom Convoy. She opposed Justin Trudeau's use of the Emergencies Act. She was against forced vaccination and lockdowns. She even pushed to reopen the abortion debate. She was openly pro-life in a Parliament where that’s increasingly rare. Now, she’s a Liberal? A party that has made it policy to block pro-life candidates from even running under its banner. That’s not a small drifting shift. That’s a total reversal on one of the clearest lines in Canadian politics. She crossed after opposing Liberal overreach into civil liberties just weeks ago. And voters are supposed to just… accept that? Without an explanation? Without a vote? Well, if you want to send a message, go to our petition page to sign, and while you're there, donate to help us send the billboard truck to her riding as we did to that other floor crosser, Matt Jeneroux. Marilyn Gladu has left us to guess what changed. Her values? Her priorities? Or just her political calculations? Because this wasn’t forced on her. She chose it. Her seat wasn't in jeopardy. And if she believes this is the right move, then she already told us what comes next. A redo. A byelection where she stands in front of her constituents and explains why she abandoned the platform they elected her on and why they should trust her now as a Liberal. Let her defend joining a party that doesn’t allow candidates who share her past views to run. Let her explain that to the people who voted for her because of those views. And then let them decide. If she’s right, she wins. If she’s wrong, she goes home. That’s the test she set. Now, she should take it. REPORT by Sheila Gunn Reid:

Parliamentary report wants to ban the 'manosphere,' including young men who want to get in shape A 62-page report from Parliament's Standing Committee on the Status of Women calls for censoring "anti-feminist" online content, reprogramming boys through early education, and regulating locker room conversations — and it was co-chaired by former Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu, who crossed the floor to the Liberals. The federal Standing Committee on the Status of Women has released a 62-page report called Confronting Anti-Feminist Ideologies in Canada. On Friday's episode of The Ezra Levant 🍁🚛 Show, Ezra walked through the document and noted it has very little to do with equality and a great deal to do with silencing disagreement. The report's very first sentence declares that anti-feminist ideologies "contribute to violence against women and gender diverse people." Ezra pointed out what that means in practice. "They're not critics. They're not opponents. They're not citizens who have a different point of view," he said. "They are evil. That's the entire premise here." The committee's recommendations follow from that premise. Enhance public awareness and digital literacy among youth. Translation: tell you what to believe. Address online harms and regulate digital platforms: censorship. Develop strategies to engage men and boys in advancing gender equality through early intervention. Translation: start on the boys young. Fund Canadian media that agrees? Bribe the regime media. Expand data collection on anti-feminist ideologies — that's paying professors to create fake scholarships around it. The report identifies the "manosphere" as a primary threat. Ezra, with some bewilderment, said that this includes young men trying to get physically fit. The committee heard testimony that "looks-maxing" — working to improve one's physical appearance — originates from anti-feminist online subcultures and is spreading into playgrounds and locker rooms. "We better stop the looks-maxing," Ezra said sarcastically. "We want people to be ugly." Traits the report describes as "toxic masculinity" include working hard, carrying a load without complaining, and showing strength. "Imagine being strong, showing strength, not complaining, and calling that toxic masculinity," Ezra said. "Isn't that something all men should aim for?" Women who prefer traditional roles — homemaking, raising children — are given two sentences in the report, in which they are essentially accused of being traitors to their sex. The "tradwife" movement is described as promoting "misogyny, anti-equality, misinformation, and idealized patriarchal roles." Choosing to be a homemaker, the report suggests, is itself a form of harm. The report recommends counter-messaging in sports, intervention in locker rooms, and "pre-bunking", that is, educating children before they are exposed to what the committee considers misinformation, so they are inoculated against it in advance. This, Ezra said, amounts to a plan to reprogram children. "Imagine having the government say your opinions aren't just wrong, they need to be pushed out of you," he said. The report also recommends requiring content moderation on social media platforms and ending online anonymity. "If you're not a feminist, that's misinformation," Ezra said. "It's not a different opinion. You're just simply wrong, evil, deluded. They have to fix you." Ezra saved his sharpest words for last, taking aim at the committee's co-chair Marilyn Gladu — who was elected as a Conservative MP on a socially conservative platform and subsequently crossed the floor to the Liberals. "She was bribed by Mark Carney," he said. "And this is what she co-wrote."

FIRE CHRIS! Conservative MP betrays voters, crosses floor to Liberals You know what’s worse than a bad MP? A bad MP who uses your votes, your time, and your money to get elected — then sells you out to save his own job. That’s exactly what Chris d’Entremont just did. Five months after squeaking through a tight race — on the backs of Conservative volunteers and donors — Chris d’Entremont crossed the floor to join Mark Carney’s Liberals. And he did it on budget day, as the government dropped a record-breaking $78 billion deficit on Canadians. One that is worse than the budget that Chrystia Freeland refused to deliver, and caused Justin Trudeau to resign and Carney to take over because he was going to a better fiscal caretaker. You can’t make this up. Go to to help us send him a message and empower the people he betrayed, through a multifaceted campaign to get him to resign in shame. Remember what we did to MP Ya'ara Saks after she cuddled up to terror tyrant Mahmood Abbas? Now, 40 days ago — 40 days — Chris d’Entremont was warning in Parliament that Canadians were hurting under Mark Carney’s government and that another massive Liberal deficit would make things worse. Forty days ago, he sounded like a fiscal conservative. Today, he’s cheering on the very people he said were bankrupting the country. And just a few months back, he was online praising Pierre Poilievre — telling voters that Poilievre was the one to fix what the Liberals broke. Now he’s sitting beside them. So, what changed? Not the Liberals. Not the deficit. Not the suffering in his riding. What changed was Chris d’Entremont’s job prospects. He lost his bid to become Deputy Speaker to Conservative MP Tom Kmiec, and apparently that bruised his ego so badly he started shopping for a softer landing. And if you think that’s speculation, listen to this: Former Conservative MP Rick Perkins said that just last weekend, d’Entremont told him: “If an election is held now, I will lose my seat. I might as well not run.” Perkins added, “Make no mistake. There is nothing in his floor crossing about principles. It was about keeping his job.” There it is. Straight from a colleague. Let’s put the pieces together: - He lost the Deputy Speaker race. - He thought he couldn’t win re-election. - And he crossed the floor on budget day, joining the Liberals to protect himself and his pension. Then, for good measure, he handed in a resignation letter dated November 4, 2005, misspelled the whip’s name, and locked his X account to hide months of posts supporting the Conservatives. This isn’t about representation. It’s about self-preservation. He saw the writing on the wall and switched jerseys before the voters could send him packing. That’s not leadership — that’s cowardice. And here’s the problem: If we don’t hammer this kind of betrayal now, it becomes normal. If floor-crossers can waltz across the aisle, lock their accounts, and cash a pension — every MP with hurt feelings or wounded ambition will start looking for their own escape hatch. That’s why we built It’s a message to every politician in Ottawa: if you betray your voters, there will be consequences. We’re funding mailers, robocalls, billboards, and a petition demanding a byelection — not just to fire Chris d’Entremont, but to make sure the next one thinking about doing it knows exactly what happens when you sell out your supporters. If you switch sides after an election, you should face the voters again. No free pass. No safe landing. No pension without permission. To the volunteers who stood in the cold, to the donors who believed in him, to the voters who feel duped — you deserve better than this. And to Chris d’Entremont — you can lock your account, but you can’t hide from the people you betrayed. Go to right now. Sign the petition. Donate what you can. Share it everywhere. Because if we let one MP get away with selling out his voters to save his job, we won’t have a democracy left — just a job fair for politicians. No free passes. No safe landings. Face the voters — REPORT by Sheila Gunn Reid:
