I’m of the camp who wishes and hopes that Sebastian Telfair gets back on track for himself and for his kids who depend on him. I can recall me going through life and financial hardship and it wasn’t pretty. There was a lot of struggle I battled publicly and didn’t know how to manage my life for a period of time. I don’t know how he’s gotten to where he’s at. The fact is that he’s there and he has to do something about it. That mentality of dealing with reality and getting up daily to change my situation is what got me to where I’m at. Sometimes things are what they are…. You have to get back on your feet and get your life in order. I don’t have to say I told you so to the people who counted me out or laughed at me. All I have to do is exist and live. The results show themselves over time. It’s better to get back up, have class, laugh in the back of your mind and help others. Losers who wish hell on your life have internal issues. I was able to recover a few videos and photos from my life in Gaza. This one ripped my heart to pieces. It is a beautiful memory with my son Kinan, who was just nine months old. I had just come home from work and he was waiting for me at the door, sitting in his baby walker. The way my children greeted me every day after work erased every trace of stress and exhaustion. I watch the video over and over, taking in every detail. I see the floor tiles and remember how many times we struggled to choose them, how many stores we visited searching for the most beautiful, the best. Those days were tiring, but they were full of joy. I see the living room curtains in the background, the couch, and I think of how perfect they were. My home was beautiful. I chose everything with care, the best and the most beautiful for that home. Now I have nothing from that video. Not my clothes. Not my child’s clothes. Not his walker. Not the couch. Not the curtains. Not the tiles. Nothing. All I have left is the ache of longing for my home.

While I do have my issues with the Digital Circus finale, this one scene stuck out to me with incredible reliability. To me, this scene represents what my relationship with Christ has been at multiple times in my life. I had thoroughly convinced myself that I was undeserving of His love and acceptance, and that I’d rather be left alone to wallow in my own misery. Thankfully He didn’t give up on me, and loved me despite my past flaws and mistakes. That’s instantly where my mind went when watching this in the theater for the first time a couple weeks ago, and has continued to stick in my mind since. How blessed I am to have a Savior who will always come for me, to show me His love even when I’ve messed up and don’t deserve it. That kind of love is what pushes me to be more like Christ every day, and while I’m not perfect, I hope to do my best. 🥹

I started working at Apple when I was 23 years old and spent ~8 years there. I learned a lot, but deep down, I hated the idea that this was just how life was supposed to be… work at a desk until I’m 65, retire, and then finally have the time to actually live before I die. Today, thanks to Starlink and 𝕏, my life looks completely different vs others. It’s a dream for many, but a reality for me. I can go anywhere in the world - even sit next to a waterfall like this - with internet beamed down to me from space and the ability to instantly share my thoughts with millions of people. I can work. I can create. I can invest in the companies and technologies I believe will change the world. And most importantly, I can do it all while actually living my life and spending my time the way I choose. That kind of freedom is priceless to me. A lot of people often talk about technology in terms of speed, $, or convenience… but I think one of the greatest things technology can give us is freedom… the freedom to work from anywhere, create from anywhere, and build a life that doesn’t have to wait until retirement. Starlink has completely changed what “anywhere” means for me. And the wild thing is, when I close my eyes and think about the life I always dreamed of living in the future… I realize I’m living it right now.

Today is exactly 10 years since my injury that ended my skate career, at the age of 24. The animation explains exactly what that night was like, and how stupid it was, but also how gnarly it was. I ended up rupturing an artery, tore ACL, LCL, PCL, MCL, and stretched out the nerve in the back of my knee that caused me to have a permanent paralyzed foot (drop foot). I can’t begin to tell you how devastating it was to have something I loved so much taken away from me in seconds. My whole life was dedicated to skateboarding and it all changed over night, because of just one stupid moment. I’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs over the past 10 years, from hating skateboarding, wanting nothing to do with it, distancing myself from my skate friends - Then years later finding myself right back to loving skating and being apart of it again in different ways than just stepping on a skateboard. All of that has just been part of my healing process. I had a meeting with Rick, Carroll, and Smyth at Girl a few years back, requesting that we do a “Last Board”. They initially didn’t agree with me, but it was something that I really wanted to do. I felt just for the healing journey that I needed that chapter of my life to come to an end. I owe those dudes everything that I have in my life, Girl was my favorite company as a kid growing up, and I am so grateful that I was able to turn pro with them at 18 years old, and end my skate career with them (technically 10 years ago). I fucking LOVE Girl Skateboards forever. I also really like the idea of the board saying “GAME OVER” because it sounds so harsh, like “Dude, you broke your leg, you lose. You’re not Pro anymore. Game over” hahaha. I also just want to thank every single person that has supported me along the way of my skate career, from my family and friends, to every single person that we met at the demos and signings around the world. I am grateful for absolutely every second of it and all of it was a dream come true. And hopefully in 10 more years someone figures out how to cure some damn nerve damage. Shit. New part dropping 2034.

MY BIRTHDAY AND MY STREAM ANNIVERSARY!!! (celebration stream coming later right now let me be sappy) Three years ago on this day I hit that go live button. I had no idea what I was doing, spent all night prior learning everything about OBS, and how to set things up. I started this Streamer/Vtuber dream after being so tired of living a fake life in my previous career. It was stable pay, roof over my head, bills paid, but no passion, no drive, and worst I was just empty. When that contract was up and it was time to renew; to continue that semi-comfortable life with nothing to worry about. I refused and chased after this stupidly irresponsible content creator dream. I took that leap and it has been the greatest decision of my life. Sure I struggle here and there with multiple jobs while consistently streaming because I'm no longer in my former career where everything was taken care of, but it took all of my energy, time, and passion. I don't regret my decision. I would make that same choice again and again given the chance to go back. I'm chasing this Vtuber dream, I'm chasing my fitness goals, and I'm genuinely living! Jon Bernthal says a night in jail made him realize he had to completely change his life. Jon Bernthal: “I was walking my dogs, and I see there’s a house party. These assholes are at this party, and there’s an old couple playing the didgeridoo. I see this one guy and I just fucking lock on to him. He was the ringleader. He goes up to this old woman who’s playing the didgeridoo next to her husband, and he puts the didgeridoo on his dick so it looks like she’s blowing his ***** there’s something about that that just fucking pissed me off. Then he locked on to my dog. He called Boss over, and when I called Boss back, he held onto him. There’s just something about my dogs and my family and my friends. I just can’t take that shit, man. I grabbed Boss from him and started walking away. His buddy pushed me in the back, and I turned around and hit him. He got knocked out standing up and crashed his head on the pavement. His buddies jumped me, the police came, and it became this huge mess. They ended up taking me away because the guy wasn’t waking up. And I’m sitting there handcuffed to this bench, and I remember being locked up when I was a kid. I had to piss so fucking bad, and I couldn’t even move. I had to ask somebody for permission to go to the bathroom. And the cops are in my ear saying, ‘If he doesn’t wake up, you’re done.’ And I knew right there on that bench, I said to myself, ‘Look, man, this is gonna go one or two ways. If he doesn’t wake up, I’m going down, and I’m going through that room that way. I’m done with family. I’m done with friends. And I’m gonna be the devil.’” Jon Bernthal: “And it was a scary feeling because I wasn’t scared. It was peaceful. I was ready to be that guy. But I said, ‘Lord, if you can just wake this guy up. If you can just change this, I am done, man. I’m done with the bullshit. I’m done with the drinking. I’m done with the messing around. I’m gonna commit to my lady. I’m gonna commit to my work. I’m gonna be about making a family. I’m gonna trim all the fat off my life. If you just give me the shot.’” Jon Bernthal: “Sure enough, this guy ended up waking up. And right after that, I had an audition for The Walking Dead. July 3rd, 2010, one year later, I was on set for The Walking Dead. I got married right after the first year of The Walking Dead, and that’s really when my life changed in every single way. I started working different. Started behaving different.”
