Tomorrow is Tax Freedom Day. That’s the day when the average family, has fulfilled its tax obligations, and paid all the taxes to the government. In other words, if you had to pay all the taxes, owed to all levels of government, upfront, you would be free of all taxes on June 9, and the rest of your earnings for the rest of the year, would be yours to keep. Essentially, the average family has worked for the government for nearly 6 months. So tomorrow, June 9th, is what’s known as Tax Freedom Day, marking the first day you keep what you earn. The Fraser Institute did a study & found that 43.5% of the average Canadian family’s income goes to taxes. And that’s before the $113 billion in deficits the federal and provincial governments are running this year. If you add those in, and the real Tax Freedom Day is June 25, meaning, you work for the government two weeks longer before you get to keep what you’ve earned.

This guy right here. Whatever job he is interviewing for, I hope he gets it. He’s trying and that’s all that any of us can do. 💯 I’m going to give that man an A+ just on the fact that he put effort into this. So many people today just show up in whatever- shorts, tank top, t-shirt, etc. Do you remember the days when it was standard to get dressed up for a job interview, no matter the type of job? The days they wouldn’t even hire you if you weren’t dressed up?

This guy is a telecom maintenance technician/cell phone tower climber. He climbs these towers for a living. This job was a fiber issue and after he climbs to the top he sees that all it was is a port that’s not plugged in all the way. 🤯 So next time your fiber is out maybe it’s just a port that came unplugged. 💯 The average salary for a Cell Tower Climber is $57,759 per year or $28 per hour in the United States. Entry-level positions typically start around $47,134 annually, while experienced climbers can earn up to $85,931. I think I’ll pass. I thought the pay would be much higher than that based on the risk alone. Anyone interested in doing this job for that amount of money out there?

You applied for an overnight security job that pays almost double over any other security job that you’ve had or seen. Everyone else that had this job quit within a week. You are required to make rounds at different parts of the building once an hour. Sometimes you think you must be tired because you hear faint whispering or conversation. Sometimes you hear noises that seem to echo throughout the whole building and you have no idea where it’s coming from. Having no contact with anyone for almost 8 hours a night seems to make your thoughts in your head seem louder. How long could you do a job like this that isolates you from others, sometimes your own mind running endlessly can be the most terrifying thing in the world.

Chrystia Freeland will not be in any ethics violations from her latest job working for Ukraine. Even though she is a MP in Canada, and accepted a job to work for the Ukraine government... The Ethics Act only applies to <1% of all issues. The Liberals will investigate themselves. Determine that there is no issue. Continue to money laundering your tax dollars. Then get the media to tell you this is all normal and good for you and Canada.

Fun fact: It would take the average PC roughly 138,069,000 hours or about 15,761 years to render Avatar: The Way of Water. Here’s how I worked it out: The average PC in 2024 has 6 cores. The average blade on WetaFXs renderfarm has between 16-64 cores. There is roughly 414,000 frames in the finished film, accounting for half of the film being 48fps and half being 24fps at the final runtime of 192 minutes. Each frame took an average of 20-80 hours to render on WetaFXs blades depending on shot complexity and accounting for the 4K delivery resolution. With that info, we can work out the average: We say that the average Weta blade has 40 cores (average between the 16-64 count). That gives a Weta to PC core ratio of 6.67 We also say that the average render time per frame is 50 hours (average of 20-80) Total render time for Weta: 50 hours x 414,000 frames = 20,700,000 hours To work out how long this would be on the average home PC we must multiply by the core ratio from earlier: 50 hours x 6.67 = 333.5 hours per frame Total render time on a home PC: 333.5 hours x 414,000 frames = 138,069,000 hours, which converted to years is 15,761 DISCLAIMER: This is all an educated guess done for fun based on publicly available technical information about the film and Wetas renderfarm.
