My name is Wangeci Alice, For the past few weeks, since I was admitted on 28th March, I’ve been suffering silently … but it’s time to speak up and ask for your support. A day after admission, on the 29th March, I bravely faced my first surgery, which was the separation to prepare for main surgery. I was in pain, but hopeful—because I knew on 5th April, a new journey would start with my hip replacement. But this never happened. SHA failed after the hospital sent the preauthorization. We did this again and again. But no approval. Which meant no surgery. Total silence. They said I wait until 12th April. I waited, broken but hopeful. But 12th came and went like the rest of the days. And now it’s pushed again—to 18th April. Still, no approval. No surgery. I’m still here, in this hospital bed. Day and night. Patient and hopeful. But that is another bill on top of another, daily. With metal rods pulling at my leg. And a hip crying out for relief. It’s a heart tired of waiting.

An 82-year-old Cuban pilot went viral on Chinese social media after recounting his friendship with and studies in China during the 1960s and asking about the cost of a flight from Havana to Beijing to a Chinese tourist. Living in a cramped room with just one bed in Cuba, the 82-year-old is known as "Tito" on Chinese social media. When a Chinese female tourist walked by his door, he tried to converse with her despite her language barrier and initial shock. The girl later discovered that Tito was a Cuban pilot who studied aviation in Shanxi Province, China, from 1961 to 1963. Tito showed her his Chinese PLA graduation certificate and told her that he missed China and that most of his pilot friends had already died. After that, he asked how much a plane ticket from Havana to Beijing would cost. The girl later shared the video on Chinese social media, describing Tito as "the lonely grandfather in Cuba." She mentioned that Tito kept a little notebook in which he planned to jot down his inquiries for the Chinese and his wish lists for sites to visit in China. It appears that he had made repeated attempts to strike up conversations with Asian tourists who passed his door, but they all thought he was strange and quickly left. In Tito's notebook, you can still see Chinese expressions like "How are you?" "When will you leave?" and "When are you planning to return?" Tito's story has moved many Chinese internet users, who are rallying to help him get a plane ticket to China or locate his Chinese friends. In September 1961, the Cuban Air Force chose 223 young pilots (average age less than 20) to study in China. They were among the first international students to come to China, as the Chinese netizens learnt later. A Chinese netizen later claimed on social media that his grandfather was Tito's teacher at the time. The story of Tito has gone viral on Chinese social media. The official account of the Chinese PLA Air Force left a comment under Tito’s video, stating that they had been attempting to get in touch with Tito. The comment said that the Chinese PLA will never forget a friend like Tito and that their friendship will transcend space and time. Today is the Lantern Festival in China, a time for family reunions. An 82-year-old Cuban pilot went viral on Chinese social media after recounting his friendship with and studies in China during the 1960s and asking about the cost of a flight from Havana to Beijing to a Chinese tourist. Living in a cramped room with just one bed in Cuba, the 82-year-old is known as "Tito" on Chinese social media. When a Chinese female tourist walked by his door, he tried to converse with her despite her language barrier and initial shock. The girl later discovered that Tito was a Cuban pilot who studied aviation in Shanxi Province, China, from 1961 to 1963. Tito showed her his Chinese PLA graduation certificate and told her that he missed China and that most of his pilot friends had already died. After that, he asked how much a plane ticket from Havana to Beijing would cost. The girl later shared the video on Chinese social media, describing Tito as "the lonely grandfather in Cuba." She mentioned that Tito kept a little notebook in which he planned to jot down his inquiries for the Chinese and his wish lists for sites to visit in China. It appears that he had made repeated attempts to strike up conversations with Asian tourists who passed his door, but they all thought he was strange and quickly left. In Tito's notebook, you can still see Chinese expressions like "How are you?" "When will you leave?" and "When are you planning to return?" Tito's story has moved many Chinese internet users, who are rallying to help him get a plane ticket to China or locate his Chinese friends. In September 1961, the Cuban Air Force chose 223 young pilots (average age less than 20) to study in China. They were among the first international students to come to China, as the Chinese netizens learnt later. A Chinese netizen later claimed on social media that his grandfather was Tito's teacher at the time. The story of Tito has gone viral on Chinese social media. Dallas PD’s Drone as First Responder program continues to support our on-the-ground patrol officers by providing aerial coverage on emergency calls while officers respond. On a recent call for service in the 2000 block of Elm Street, our drone unit was overhead at an 11-story parking garage where a man called 9-1-1 and told the call analyst he wanted to jump off the building. The drone maintained visual contact with the man, relaying important details to the officers arriving, as the man looked distressed and repeatedly walked to the edge, even sitting on the ledge and looking down. When the officers reached the top of the garage, they quickly and safely took the man into custody. With the fast response by the drone pilot, officers arrived at the scene with critical intelligence they would not have received from just the call to 9-1-1. This incident is documented under case number 076743-2026.

Last night, our Special Operations forces executed an extraction. The operation involved hundreds of personnel, dozens of warplanes and helicopters providing overwhelming air cover, and intense support from intelligence, cyber, and other assets. Firefights and airstrikes occurred as the team located and extracted the officer who was hiding on a mountain top. To prevent sensitive equipment from falling into enemy hands, our forces destroyed two of our aircraft that had malfunctioned inside Iran. See a clip of the wreckage below. All of our personnel involved returned safely. President Trump confirmed the success, stating the navigator is “safe and sound” despite sustaining injuries, and praising the operation as one of the most daring search-and-rescue missions in recent U.S. military history. MAINE 85 (Maine Air National Guard KC-135) has just entered the Whiskey 105 Warning Area off the coast of New York to conduct aerial refueling today. Why is this callsign significant? On September 11th, 2001 MAINE 85 launched from Bangor, Maine to refuel fighter jets participating in an exercise. HUNTRESS (North East Air Defense Sector “NEADS” aka NORAD) was working with Massachusetts Air National Guard F-15s that were trying to defend New York City against hijacked airliners. These F-15s only have so much fuel and the NEADS aka HUNTRESS controller re-tasked MAINE 85 to pass gas to the PANTA flight. In the audio, you’ll hear the controller telling MAINE 85 to proceed to the western side of WHISKEY 105. WHISKEY 105 is a brevity/radio term for the Warning Area 105. In aviation, a Warning Area (W-Area) is a designated airspace extending from 3 nautical miles offshore, containing activity that may be hazardous to non-participating aircraft. I’m assuming today’s MAINE 85 callsign is paying homage to that day in American history and flying in the WHISKY 105 currently. If ADSB existed back in 2001, the world would have had an amazing and unprecedented amount of data to digest. I’ve overlaid HUNTRESS audio from 9/11/2001 with a ADSB screenshot of MAINE 85 this morning to give you some perspective of what occurred on this day 24 years ago.
