Freaking hell, an 8.3 liter engine revving that fast is scary 😭 An 8.3L naturally aspirated V16 spinning all the way to around 9,000+ rpm is just ridiculous. That’s the part that gets me. You normally hear "8.3 liter" and picture some huge low revving monster, but Bugatti somehow... show more

One of the only supercars where Lexus did not compensate by making it a hybrid or a twin turbo six cylinder. Not torque, not instant speed. This was about the experience, this car wanted you to rev the engine hard, this is a backroads car for going fast. One of the last naturally aspirated M3s. Compared to a modern M340i with maybe similar power, this feels slower, but this M3 is way better feeling and its a V8 M3, the only V8 M3 and the older M3's feel way way more alive.

BMW took the M20 2.0L petrol engine, stroked it to 2.7L, and optimised it not for peak power but for maximum torque at the lowest possible RPM. The result was 125 PS, almost identical to the 520i alongside it, but with 240 Nm available from just 3,250 RPM, which was more low-end torque than even the turbocharged 524td diesel at the time. 0-100 km/h in around 11 seconds is honest about what it is. What those numbers don't tell you is that the 525e pulls from 1,500 RPM, cruises at motorway speeds without working, and does it all with the inherent smoothness of a naturally aspirated inline-six that simply cannot be replicated by a diesel or a four-cylinder. Fuel consumption ended up being somewhere around 8 to 9 L/100 km and with a 70 L fuel tank the car could even do 1000 km trips. BMW sold it with a very long final drive ratio specifically to keep revs low at speed. It was designed for people who drove and appreciated the journey rather than the sprint. A slow BMW that is genuinely enjoyable, in the most honest way a BMW can be.

V10 in a family saloon, what was BMW thinking or snorting back then? 500 hp from the S85B50 V10 engine, high revving and one of the best sounding V10's ever and the best sounding BMW of all time. Nothing else matters as much. Of course, there are downsides. Reliability isn’t great. This is not a simple car to own. But that’s part of it, high risk, high reward. You take care of it, and it gives you that V10 sound. Some even converted them to manual to ditch the SMG gearbox and USA even got the manual from factory. And there’s a Touring as well, even more added insanity.

But the other officers pulled the individual out the car he was apprehended with a gun that he had by the seat and drugs.

The one thing we absolutely know with certainty about the Richat Structure is that there was an incredible amount of human activity here from the dawn of toolmaking and tool use itself. The Acheulean Hand Axe is the second tool that humans ever made and this technology spread throughout Africa, Europe and Asia while no definitive evidence exists that this technology ever made it to the Americas. I think this is evidence that this technology was shared and disseminated intentionally, that neighboring humans didn’t come up with this independently on their own but this was a legacy, an institution, a skill and an industry that was shared and taught. It is perhaps the earliest evidence we have of widespread cultural diffusion throughout Africa, Europe and Asia. And yes, it’s right there at the Richat Structure which leads me to question the role that the Richat played to humans half a million years ago. It seems like that’s where we have to start with the Richat.

Look at the rivals: W205 C63, F80 M3 are both turbocharged. This wasn’t so this was screaming compared to the muffled noise from the Mercedes and M3. And you can hear the difference immediately. The sound alone puts it ahead. Compared to newer cars, it’s the same story. They might be faster. But they don’t sound like this when they have gone more quiet, downsized and use filters because EU wants them.

While everyone is wagon crazy today after the BMW reveal, let’s not forget the Syms GF8 Impreza. Syms took an Impreza wagon and turned it into a front engine, rear wheel drive JTCC race car. It weighed about 1000 kg and used a naturally aspirated EJ20 making around 300 hp, fed through a huge carbon airbox in the hood scoop. It had a six speed sequential gearbox, double wishbone race suspension, a wide track, big brakes, and a full JTCC aero kit with a functional rear wing designed specifically for the wagon. It could not keep up with the factory Toyota teams, but the engineering was wild, and a lot of that development later influenced Syms performance parts.

And so because of that, saying, “I’m going to have an AI that is somehow brilliant and independent, but yet I’m gonna constrain the way it thinks,” is a logical contradiction. It’s like saying in a computer that I know the next place the thing is going to go, even though the code is opaque to me. It’s probably at the level of the halting problem—although that’s a different discussion.

This whole situation is suspect. If you had a $100k + Mercedes, you would take it in for service at Mercedes right? I mean, don’t buy an expensive car if you can’t afford the maintenance. Now after Jiffy Lube pulled his car in, they claimed that it had a check engine light on. The owner denies it saying he took a picture of the dash and there was no check engine light. The fact he took a picture of the dash tells me there is a possibility he knew about it and cleared the code before he pulled in. So is Jiffy Lube scamming him or is he scamming them?

Fox New’s Steve Doocy just called out the Republican Chairman of the Oversight Committee, James Comer, for spreading a narrative that Joe Biden is corrupt when there is absolutely no evidence that he did anything illegal. This is my very point. Anyone can try and fabricate accusations against another person by taking facts and twisting them around to fit a desired narrative. So far, this is all that Republicans in Congress have been able to do. Just like the Trump family made billions of dollars while in or out of office, the Biden family also has a right to make millions. You don’t have to like it, but there is nothing illegal about making money overseas. You may argue that the fact that they made money from foreign governments is evidence of corruption, but that would simply be an assumption without facts to back it up. We all have a right to know the facts, but to call Joe Biden corrupt just because his family made money like other Presidents’ families did overseas, that’s unfair.

This is a high elevation fishing reservoir that actually gets stocked with fish for Americans to go fishing and enjoy. Unfortunately with these water levels, there’s nothing left to enjoy During this time of the year the water level is normally lower than after snowmelt of course but not this low….. Arizona is in a drought and this specific region is greatly effected by that drought
