You can now classify documents with open-weight VLMs at ultra-low cost with our TypeSafe AI Jev-compatible API in the VLM Run gateway! $1 buys you 6700+ pages, and the full 1,651-page OmniDocBench run cost 25 cents. It reads the page as pixels (no OCR->LLM hacks) and hands back one typed, calibrated decision per page - ~180ms p50 e2e. Jev really opened developers' eyes to re-thinking how we process data at the cost-pareto front. A week later we're bringing that to our APIs with vision as a first-class citizen. Try our gateway today - free to sign-up and try!

Something just launched that makes VS Code feel ancient. And im all in for it: Cline Desktop app, an open-source app for open-weight models (and you know how much i love open source) brings its coding agent into a standalone Cline Desktop app for Mac + Windows. Just open a project and tell it what you want to change. No need to open VS Code first. In Cline's demo, it adds priority filters to a task board, works through the code and runs the build. Glad to see the model choice stays open, too. You can bring your own API keys, use supported open-weight models and even switch models halfway through a project!

Nace shows Drex playing a strategy game. i gave it a harder opponent: my timeline Spoiler Guard sends each post to the new decision model and blurs the spoilers, 352 post checked in one session with sub-second calls → 128K context window, per Nace the first and only decision model at that size → #1 on the Decision Index, a Jev rival for $0.04 per 1M input tokens → no text generated, just a probability per post try it with 250M free tokens from Nace AI:

so we already have an open source alternative to jev... and it's 6-7x faster?! it's a typed-decision classification system: no chat, no generated text, just fast yes/no, scoring, or choice answers. > runs in under 1gb of memory > free on hugging face > runs on a laptop, or even a phone there's a real demo where it plays snake live, making a fresh decision every single move. two honest limits, straight from the project itself: > only 512-1,024 token context, some cases won't fit > weaker generalization than jev out of the box

Cline Desktop just launched. An open-source workspace for open-weight models 🤯 > Import tasks from other coding agents > Run agents in parallel > Schedule tasks to run on their own Free models built in: DeepSeek V4 Flash, GLM 5.3 Flash, Laguna S 2.1. I had early access and I can assure you it feels incredible. Pick your model and provider, and run it. 100% open source.

Okay... this is actually insane. OpenCodex feels like the open-source breakthrough I've been waiting for. The best part : You can plug multiple providers into the same OpenAI Codex harness and switch between models depending on the task. Running low on tokens? No problem. Use another provider. OpenRouter free model today? Plug it in. This completely changes how I think about AI coding workflows. And yes... it even works on mobile. OpenCodex might be one of the most useful open-source AI projects I've seen this year. OpenAI built an incredible harness. The open-source community just made it universal.

🚀Excited to announce: Open-source AlphaFold3 implementation! 🚀 I am thrilled to announce one of the models we have been building for the last 8-weeks at Ligo - an open-source implementation of DeepMind’s frontier model, AlphaFold3! Here’s what we have learned, a thread (1/11):

What if aircraft were built like open-source software? Project Caribou is an ambitious open-source effort to build a 200 kg-class heavy-lift hexacopter that anyone can study, improve, and contribute to. The long-term goal is to accelerate the development of larger open-source aircraft and eVTOL platforms. The project targets a ~200 kg maximum takeoff weight with an ~100 kg payload, uses an 18S power architecture, and is built around an ArduPilot-based flight stack. The repository includes CAD models, PCB designs, documentation, and engineering workflows that are evolving in the open. If you are interested in drones, aerospace, robotics, or embedded systems, this is one of the most exciting open-source engineering projects to follow.

Fased Agent is open source. Run your own agent. Start with the dashboard. Connect a model. Run a first task. Then add wallets, tools, and mining when the setup is ready. GitHub + docs in reply.
