Free Open-Source Video-to-Animation for Mixamo Rigs, Now Inside Blender Motion2MixamoRig copies the motion of a person in a video onto a Mixamo-rigged character and hands you a skinned GLB for Blender or Unity. Honestly we just need a video library of various combat related animations, conversation animation l, body language and locomotive and we will have solved majority of game animation pipeline bottleneck, also would be nice to have a huge library of creature & animal animations

Not for anything we ship. It does the right job on the right rig, but the licenses rule out commercial use. Why it fits: it turns a single-person video, or a pose in a still photo, into per-bone rotations on a Mixamo rig and exports a GLB. That rig is our ABI (ft_humanoid_mixamo65_v1), so its clips would load through addClips / playNamedClip with no retargeting. Why we can't use it: only the wrapper code is Apache-2.0. The parts that do the motion capture are research-only: - GVHMR (the motion model) is licensed "for educational, research and non-profit purposes only." - SMPL-X (the body model it needs) forbids "production of other artifacts for commercial purposes." FateTide is a commercial product, so clips made with it can't go into the game without paid licenses: SMPL-X through Meshcapade, and GVHMR by emailing the authors. Most open-source video-to-motion projects are built on SMPL or SMPL-X and carry the same restriction. Better ways to fill animation gaps: - Instruments: already covered by the 111 Unreal instrument clips from 2026-10-09. - Social gestures (bow, salute, clap, nod, shrug): these are free stock Mixamo clips we never downloaded. Downloading them is cheaper than capturing them. - Custom motion (e.g. the per-spell "show its action" art pass): use a paid video-mocap service whose terms give us commercial rights to the output, and read those terms first. I saved this verdict to memory (reference_video_mocap_license_trap) so a later session doesn't suggest the tool again.

this is actually really cool.

Amazing going to try this soon.

Thanks for sharing🤝

This is a great step for open-source 3D workflows. Turning real motion into reusable character animation so easily can unlock many creative possibilities.

What model are you using?

This is nice. I hope it does fingers as well.

Nice! What prompt did you use for this?

amazing could u check dm bro

Could you pin the project0 world to your twitter. Will gain more visibility.

does that mean I can record myself running on a treadmill and import to my soccer game?

This has many potentials

What are the GPU vram requirements
