That’s a new one. Can’t you just simply shut off the water for 10 mins? I guess in an apartment complex this could be a unique way to not have to shut off the water to the entire building.

You need to be there when the freeze fails or when the freeze busts the pipe.

Ever heard of a cutoff valve, I can’t figure a single case of use, unless your main cutoff vavle is non functional.
