@CircaLasVegas @stratvegas I live in Vegas and at 1:46 AM it is still 93 degrees. It was over 100 up until 10 PM or so. No. That is not comfortable. Its not fun and day after day after day of this is pure miserable. And yes, I am in the process of moving. This place is miserable.

For the last couple weeks, I’ve been checking Las Vegas at all hours — not just Saturday night, not just dinner rush, not just big convention crowds. I’ve been out at 3 AM, 10 AM, 3 PM, late night, early morning — Strip, off-Strip, expensive spots, cheap spots, tourist traps, local corners. This week alone we looked at the massive elegance of Trump International, then bounced over to Excalibur, where you’ve got Dick’s Last Resort, castle chaos, budget Vegas, and pure people-watching insanity. That’s the point. Vegas isn’t one thing. You can do luxury. You can do cheap. You can do classy. You can do ridiculous. You can spend big or barely spend at all. If you can’t find something in Las Vegas that fits your budget, your vibe, or your mood… either you’re not looking hard enough — or you just don’t want to be here. Vegas is changing. And I’m out here documenting it.

We drove out to Lake Las Vegas for one reason: I wanted to see what all this growth actually looks like for myself. And wow… there is WAY more happening out there than I expected. New construction, luxury homes, condos, golf courses, Hilton and Westin resorts, a marina, an Italian-style village — all surrounded by desert mountains with the Strip sitting way off in the distance. Here’s my potentially unpopular opinion: Lake Las Vegas may be closer to the FUTURE of Southern Nevada than the Las Vegas Strip is. People keep asking whether “Vegas is dead” because visitation is soft or a casino floor looks empty. Meanwhile, thousands of people are moving here to actually LIVE — and developments like this are creating an entirely different version of Vegas that has almost nothing to do with gambling. Today was a HUGE day at the Las Vegas A’s stadium site. And the big surprise: John Fisher was on site for the milestone. I don’t know Mr. Fisher personally, but I’ll say this — he believed in Las Vegas, he stuck to the plan, and now we’re watching steel go up on the Strip while the doubters keep moving the goalposts. In a city where projects can stall, get delayed, or turn into endless talk, there’s something pretty cool about seeing an owner actually show up, walk the site, and be part of the moment. So while everyone keeps saying “Vegas is dead” or acting like this stadium isn’t happening… it’s happening right in front of us. Vegas isn’t dead. The A’s stadium is real.
