@mayakendrickxo @AntiRecidivism It wouldn’t have occurred to me that convicts were used to fight fires but I’ve read the fine print of the 13th amendment well enough to know that I shouldn’t be surprised that they are. The people being saved are being given the gift of the magi. Too few will ever know it.

@AntiRecidivism So they’ll receive the money AFTER release, whenever that is & IF. 😬 I do not believe they’re meant to see that money with how conditional receipt of that money is & the fact they are young & being forced to firefight. THIS IS SLAVERY. INDENTURED SERVITUDE.

A busy day for our team that went up to the border to rescue the abandoned cats. 26 souls were rescued (including a momma cat and her kittens). Most of the cats were quite bewildered by their abandonment and seemed relieved to be rescued. They will be taken into quarantine and made comfortable. Tomorrow the vets team will be busy checking each one carefully. Thank you to those who donated last night to support these cats. There is still time to donate if anyone can help us to help them.
