According to sources, things went wrong when Imran Khan came to know about Pakistan's role in Gaza Peace and the protest carried out by the TLP in response to it. Imran Khan reacted strongly to this against the Pakistan government and especially the Army Chief, due to which Imran Khan was subjected to severe mental and physical torture. As for the justification given by Rana Sanaullah, it does not seem convincing at all. It seems that something very wrong has happened which the Pakistan government now seems incapable of handling. As time passes, the rumours circulating about Imran Khan seem to be getting more and more serious.

Britain should look at cutting aid to Pakistan until it upholds the rule of law, the former brother-in-law of jailed Imran Khan has told the Government. Speaking at Westminster, Lord Goldsmith, who previously served as a foreign minister, said: “I think anyone who is paying attention understands that Imran Khan has been denied access to lawyers and to his family, including his two sons, who are my nephews. “He has been denied access even to doctors. “We understand that he has spent much of his time in prison in solitary confinement and his health is deteriorating rapidly.” He added: “Does the minister agree that now is the time for us to reconsider our aid contributions to Pakistan – Pakistan is often at the top of the list of recipients of UK aid – until that country’s Government demonstrate a clear, unambiguous commitment to the Commonwealth Charter that it signed up to, which commits it to an independent judiciary and the rule of law?”

For decades, political compromise diluted what was meant to be a civilisational invocation of the motherland. A nation that reclaimed its sovereignty in 1947 need not continue to inherit the anxieties of that era. Cultural confidence cannot be permanently hostage to historical concessions. Mandating the complete version at constitutional occasions - from the unfurling of the Tricolour to the arrival of the President and Governors - reinforces that national identity is not negotiable. It is lived, sung, and honoured in full. A confident republic does not trim its heritage to fit the sensitivities of the past. It stands by it unapologetically.
