This World Water Day, we celebrate the story of transformation - from scarcity to sustenance. In Kachchh, where droughts strike frequently, water scarcity once made survival an everyday struggle for farmers like Bhurabhai Kagi. Water scarcity left them with parched lands, dying cattle and uncertain livelihoods. Amidst these hardships, change began. ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, the philanthropic arm of ICICI Bank, in collaboration with local authority, took the initiative to revive 40 ponds in Kachchh. By using advanced machinery to remove silt, the storage capacity increased, allowing these ponds to now hold an additional 51 crore litres of water, ensuring year-round sustenance. Water is more than a resource—it is the foundation of life!
