⚠️ System Update: All high-voltage lines connecting TVA’s supply of electricity to local power companies have been restored. The last remaining line in Mississippi was returned to service this morning. TVA crews worked in challenging conditions throughout the ice storm response, using both ground and aerial resources to assess damage, complete repairs, and safely restore transmission service. The transmission system is stable and secure, and TVA is positioned to deliver power to meet demand. Earlier this year, our team had the privilege of delivering a contract involving the transportation of the Abuja Power Plant turbine and generator from the Port of Warri to Gwagwalada. The project involved the use of our Self-Propelled Modular Trailer (SPMT) and required a combination of industry-standard technical expertise and deep local knowledge to navigate the challenging conditions of the River Niger. While the shallow waterways and logistical complexities led many to view the operation as extremely difficult, our understanding of the local environment, combined with careful engineering and planning, enabled us to develop a practical solution and execute the project successfully. The operation demanded precision and commitment at every stage. Through teamwork, experience, and a determination to find solutions where others saw obstacles, the project was completed safely and efficiently. I remain proud of every member of the Wellmann team who contributed to this achievement. What happens when a wildfire outgrows a local response? When a wildfire grows large or becomes more complex, the local agency in charge may request support from a CAL FIRE Incident Management Team (IMT). So far this year, CAL FIRE IMTs have been activated 4 times to help manage complex incidents. The IMT steps in to take over the day-to-day management of the wildfire, coordinating personnel, aircraft, equipment, safety, and logistics from the agencies working together on the incident. This helps ensure the response stays organized while also allowing the local agency to keep its resources available for other emergencies, fires, and medical calls in its area. IMTs are made up of experienced firefighters and support staff who specialize in managing large, complex incidents and work together to keep the wildfire response coordinated, safe, and moving forward. #IncidentManagementTeams #CALFIRE #CaliforniaWildfires

A beautiful sight from Mannar, Keralam! Hundreds of Ashirwad diyas lit up the evening, and an aarti was performed along the Kuttemperoor river to mark PM Narendra Modi Ji's birthday. Once choked with waste, this dead river was brought back to life through ₹4 crore in central funding and an incredible community effort under MGNREGS, where local women and villagers worked side-by-side for days to clean it. Across the State right now, LAWMA intervention trucks are working side by side with waste compactors from our Local Government Councils and I am pleased to confirm that they are actively collecting and evacuating every bag, every pile, and every debris generated during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise. This collaboration between LAWMA and the Local Government Councils is exactly the kind of synergy we envisioned when we reinstated this exercise because waste management must be a shared responsibility from the state level right down to the grassroots. I commend the swift response of our teams on the field and I assure every Lagosian that we will not rest until the entire city is clean, cleared, and safe. This is the operational backbone of our commitment to a #CleanerLagos and a #GreaterLagos.

Residents will have noticed Junction 28 of the M25 with the A12 is getting a major overhaul. The last gov funded the National Highways works to stop local traffic jams, reduce accidents at this major black spot and keep road freight moving to and from our ports to serve our shops, homes and businesses. I went to see progress a couple of weeks ago and it's such an impressive engineering project - much bigger than what you can see from the A12. They're also working with local charities like Harold Hill Deer Aid to minimise impact on local wildlife and digging waterways to reduce flood risk in other parts of Havering. All due to be completed in summer 2025 to improve your journeys. Thanks to all the engineers and construction workers working on the project.

China Invests in Absorbing Russian Knowledge Over the past few years, various Chinese officers have visited the front lines in Ukraine to learn from the conflict, according to a CNN article from September. China has been doing this long before officers from Vietnam and Laos, who have also been near the front lines to learn. The same thing is happening on the Ukrainian side, with various NATO officers accompanying and learning from the conflict. However, the cooperation between Russians and Chinese is much deeper. Russian instructors are involved in Chinese training on trenches and drone usage, bringing modern assault and shelter tactics. Some time ago, I wrote this post: It discussed the great technological advances of the Chinese army, but how they occurred in a very accelerated manner and without field experience. The Chinese seem to be investing in Ukraine's experience and intense training to compensate for all that. Although the Chinese have become a powerhouse in missiles and drones, and have good radars, there is an excessive dependence on technology that is capable of weakening rather than strengthening. War is still defined by the quality of armor, innovations learned from the battlefield, and trust in one's own equipment, which must withstand sun, rain, desert, and snow. The Chinese will continue investing in absorbing this real-world learning in the coming years, but they face major challenges in improving their equipment for conventional warfare, treating technology as an additive rather than the main foundation.

To tackle these harsh conditions, the CEEC's Uzbekistan Navoi Integrated Energy Project team brought in a solar installation robot.🤖 This "new teammate" packs a high-precision six-axis robotic arm, a self-developed visual recognition algorithm, and a multi-sensor fusion navigation system. It shrugs off glare and dust, locks onto position in 5 seconds, and works with millimeter-level precision. With its help, the team cracked the gobi construction challenge and kicked the project into high gear. As I prepare for my installation at Canterbury Cathedral, it feels deeply humbling to be following in the footsteps of those who have walked this ancient route. I’m looking forward to visiting local churches, cathedrals, and holy sites along the route, and to meeting people, praying with them and hearing their stories. As I walk this path I will be praying for our Church and our world and asking God to bless those we meet. Every Christian life is a pilgrimage, a journey with God. As I begin this new chapter in my own life and ministry, I am grateful to be walking with God and with others.

This woman lived in this college house alone in the summer while she was in school still and everyone went home for break. She worked as a bartender and wouldn’t get home until late night most of the time. She came home from work and as she entered each room, she turned on the light. She slept in one of the attic bedrooms. The other room she was always nervous about and kept the door shut. She woke up in the morning and when she unlocked her bedroom door, she opened it to see the attic door open, the closet in that room was open too and it was clear someone was in there waiting, she could see the contents of the closet pushed aside. So while she slept, according to her whoever it was tried to open her door but couldn’t, so they left. Needless to say that the experience scared and she moved out until the other students came back the following semester. Is it possible it was one of the other roommates coming to get something from their room, would you automatically assume this was an intruder, wouldn’t the have just kicked down the door?
