I’m really looking forward to these upcoming Tesla FSD updates: • FSD V14 “Lite” for HW3 owners: Can’t wait to try it, even as a daily HW4 user. It’s expected to release at the end of this month and include the same features as HW4 V14. • Pothole Avoidance: This will be very welcome, especially for Teslas with lower-profile tires. It will be a game changer for me. • FSD Remembering Your Parking Preferences: Elon Musk says future FSD releases will remember your parking preferences when arriving at a destination. Great for garages, work spots, etc. • Grok Voice Commands for FSD: Elon Musk says the ability to prompt FSD with language is coming within ~3 months. You’ll be able to use your voice to tell the car what to do or where to go. This will be incredibly cool. CANT WAIT.

There’s no doubt Tesla FSD V14 Lite is ready to go. After spending a week with it, I’m very impressed by how it has transformed our ownership experience with our HW3 Model Y. It feels like a new car. It has come to a point where I have no issue taking the HW3 car over my HW4 for a drive. It’s that impressive. I can’t wait for everyone to experience it.

Elon Musk on upgrading FSD hardware for customers who bought FSD on HW3 vehicles during today’s Q1 2026 Earnings Call: “Unfortunately, HW3, I wish it were otherwise, but HW3 simply does not have the capability to achieve Unsupervised FSD. We did think at one point it would have that, but relative to HW4 — it has only 1/8th the memory bandwidth of HW4, and memory bandwidth is one of the key elements needed for Unsupervised FSD, and it's just generally a thing that's needed for Al. If you're doing an order aggressive transformer, memory bandwidth is the choke point. For customers that have bought FSD, what we're offering is essentially a discounted trade-in for cars that have Al4 hardware, and we'll also be offering the ability to upgrade the car to replace the computer — you also need to replace the cameras, unfortunately, to go to HW4. To do this efficiently, we're going to have to set up micro-factories or small factories in major metropolitan areas in order to do it efficiently. I do think over time, it’s going to make sense for us to convert ALL HW3 cars to HW4 because that’s what enables them to enter the Robotaxi fleet and have Unsupervised FSD.”

V14 Lite RAW REVIEW: Tried out v14 lite today on my 2020 M3P and honestly I think it's perfect besides the fact that it can't handle traffic lights, drives into oncoming traffic, ignores DO NOT ENTER signs, almost jumped a curb in a parking garage, and reversed onto the curb in my driveway....besides those small things it's pretty good and now speed bumps are not a problem or dip signs. Someone please tag me when there is a point release....this was cool but I'm going back to sleep 🤣🤣 Below is a compilation of my short time using it

Tesla FSD V14 Lite improves drastically on: • Overall highway performance • Lane selection • Steering smoothness • Reaction times/responsiveness • Acceleration/deceleration comfort • Parking lot performance • Overall confidence in complex situations It’s a huge leap for HW3 owners. Considering HW3 has roughly ~15% of the original size/bandwidth of HW4, the fact that Tesla AI was able to achieve this is incredible.
