@teslasi @aelluswamy The headline of this post is about HOV lanes not freeway driving, no?

@teslasi @aelluswamy HOV lanes are on the freeway. I’m unable to use FSD on the freeway due to the car constantly going into the HOV lanes when it’s not allowed to

@teslasi @aelluswamy Yes, but that is the headline of your story, no? I have the same problem, btw. I think its another Maps issue, see my post on this.

@ArthurFromX @teslasi @aelluswamy It’s an FSD issue. Even if maps said it was an HOV (though Google Maps/Apple Maps wouldn’t do why would Tesla maps) the car should be able to read signs, markings on road, and use context to know it’s not one

@ArthurFromX @teslasi @aelluswamy I am not absolving the system, I am just explaining what it going on. Clearly it needs to be fixed.

@ArthurFromX @teslasi @aelluswamy If it could do what I mentioned above with signs and markings that would solve almost all of the issues I see with FSD. Why it hasn't been solved yet is beyond me. In @aelluswamy 's demo it seemed to read some of the signs so hopefully this functionality comes out asap

@ArthurFromX @teslasi @aelluswamy Patience, grasshopper!

@teslasi @aelluswamy Put it in chill it will stay right

@teslasi @aelluswamy While true, the issue really needs to be fixed. I’d like to drive in hurry the whole trip without having to drop down my speeds and stay in the slow lane

@teslasi @aelluswamy Goes into HoV lane, not “unusable on the freeway.” I use it all the time in Chicago and it’s been great. Fixable issue, but hair not need to be on fire

I’ve previously found the same issue on 13. That said just got 14 today and it saved a crash. Started thru an intersection on a green light and it hit the brakes just mossing a car that ran the red light at high speed. I couldn’t see it coming as it was blocked by other vehicles. That worked well!!

@teslasi @aelluswamy So cool!!

@teslasi @aelluswamy I just got 14.1.4 very recently, and I am hoping that one of my biggest problems with 13.2.9, the inability to slow down to the speed limit most of the time in school zones if fixed...

@teslasi @aelluswamy I’ll have to try this one out!

@teslasi @aelluswamy take it off hurry mode. or set a profile that has it on chill mode.

@teslasi @aelluswamy Chill isn’t sufficient for day to day freeway driving for me. The issue of entering the HOV lane when the feature is specifically turned off needs to be fixed

@teslasi @aelluswamy That's why i said create a profile just for chill mode. 2 clicks where there's an hov lane. You're asking it to hurry.. it's hurrying.

@teslasi @aelluswamy Apologies if this was already asked, but have you turned off the HOV nav option?

@teslasi @aelluswamy This doesn’t mean it’s unusable in all caps Arthur cmon 😂

@teslasi @aelluswamy It is to me! 😂

@teslasi @aelluswamy It’s horrible everywhere, not only on the freeway

@teslasi @aelluswamy It’s been great for me everywhere else. No issues at all

@Mamarrachos @teslasi @aelluswamy Zero issues on the freeways in So Cal. Some decisions could be better, but nothing alarming.

@Mamarrachos @teslasi @aelluswamy Wonder why the difference in NorCal?

@teslasi @aelluswamy FSD has always relied too much on map data, and not enough on real-world info that's provided right in front of it. In this case, the CLEARLY VISIBLE HOV diamond lane marking.

@teslasi @aelluswamy Funny, I used to have the opposite problem where I wanted it to use the HOV lane and it would keep leaving. Honestly, the thing I want the most for FSD is a toggle switch on the screen where I can lock it into a single lane especially during rush-hour!

@teslasi @aelluswamy In Colorado, the HOV lanes have a double white line when they are in effect. There are only certain entrance and exit points from the HOV lane that you can use and at that point it becomes a dash line. For those reasons I don’t have that issue in Colorado.

@teslasi @aelluswamy Well it's not unusable because you can put it on chill mode and problem solved

@teslasi @aelluswamy Thanks for posting the issue. I'm sure they are working on this

@teslasi @aelluswamy 😢 no no HOV

@teslasi @aelluswamy I mean, could be a quick way to test out the emergency lights feature 😂

@teslasi @aelluswamy If you get pulled over, just say “do you know who I am? I’m Arthur from X!” 😎

@teslasi @aelluswamy Your post title could be written a little more specifically. It’s not unusable.

@teslasi @aelluswamy I had a great experience with FSD 14.1.4 it avoided potholes twice and it went around backed up traffic that was in the left turn lane. It went to the right left turn lane and made the left amazing.

@teslasi @aelluswamy Very cool! I’m super happy with it for the most part

@teslasi @aelluswamy I have this same problem with HOA lanes. It shows the symbol on the FSB imagery as well and I have the feature off. Attempts to pass using the HOA lane and I have to disengage. Leave a voice message everytime. Did it on V13 as well.

@teslasi @aelluswamy I hate this too. On all roads it always goes to the left lane for no reason. One of the top reasons people hate Tesla's is they are always driving in the left lane. Most of them are not using FSD, but FSD does it too. Get out of the left lane!

@teslasi @aelluswamy Curious if it behaves differently in Sloth Mode. You had it in Hurry mode

@teslasi @aelluswamy You can use it. You just don’t want to use chill mode. Drama drama drama.

@teslasi @aelluswamy Car switched to Fast pass lane and before I could correct cameras caught me and I received a fine in the mail.

@teslasi @aelluswamy In Houston the HOV lane is just a de facto go 120 and pass people lane. 0 enforcement. Mad max mode or get ran over. I suspect most people ignore the HOV rules so the autopilot is just fitting in to its environment.

@teslasi @aelluswamy In some states, electric cars are allowed in the HOV lane even with single occupants. Are you sure your state isn’t one of them? You might need a special “EV” plate to do it. Also, switch from “hurry” to “standard” - that might help.

@teslasi @aelluswamy Have you considered clicking the menu option to use, or not use, HOV lanes in your driver profile. I say no when driving alone, yes when passengers are in vehicle. (Yes it’ll be better when car knows automatically)

@teslasi @aelluswamy What Country are you in? In Canada, solo EVs can use the HOV lane, i believe. I think this rule was the same in America but just changed recently. Perhaps nobody told FSD?

@teslasi @aelluswamy Worst release. 13.29 felt so much smoother and more consistent

@teslasi @aelluswamy out of curiosity, did you make sure the “Use HOV Lanes” nav setting is off?

@teslasi @aelluswamy Interesting. Did you try using your blinker to go back out of the HOV lane? I noticed that I can change from mad Max to hurry to standard to chill with the right scroll button now. Did you try bringing it out of Mad max on the freeway?

@teslasi @aelluswamy Blinker will take it out of the lake but only temporarily. This was in hurry, not mad max

@teslasi @aelluswamy This issue has been a pain in 13 too

@teslasi @aelluswamy For me at least in 13 it was occasional. Now it’s every time.

@teslasi @aelluswamy Hov lane is the most retarded thing ever

@teslasi @aelluswamy I hate that it just drives whatever speed it wants. Was raining today and it was doing 75 in a 65.

@teslasi @aelluswamy probably easy to fix. But yes, really important!!

@teslasi @aelluswamy I’m sure it is! I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s some overlooked bug. But it’s been amplified on 14x over 13x which is really annoying

@teslasi @aelluswamy Tech is only as smart as its user. A couple steering wheel clicks to Standard, Chill, or Sloth will fix this
