Two reasons I disengage from Tesla FSD (HW4): 1.) I want FSD to take a diff route than suggested. Potential easy solution in the video: Just let me "draw" the route I wanna take. 2.) The full-stop at stop signs. I tap the accelerator when using FSD to do a rolling stop which is way more natural. The NHTSA made Tesla do the full-stop thing in 2022 and it's just annoying, especially when driving through a neighborhood with tons of stop signs. Those seem to be last remaining reasons why I disengage FSD (other than to just drive myself for fun)! Tesla - Elon Musk - Ashok Elluswamy

Do you think Tesla FSD is actually worth $12,000? It's hard to put a price on something that no other consumer automobile can do. Using cameras only, my Tesla was able to: -avoid a vehicle that pulled out in front of me -drive around a delivery and utility van -drive on roads without lines -stop at stop lights and stop signs -and MORE Its not perfect, and it definitely irritates me how slow it creeps at some stop signs, but for $12,000 you get to experience something most people never have. Or you can even subscribe to FSD for $200 a month. Try it out once and cancel it if it isn't for you.

This father had to go in the street to stop cars from passing a STOPPED school bus with extended stop signs so his daughter could get off the bus! Sad that people have to do this to get people to stop. Sometimes the law can vary by states but it is pretty standard. Seems more and more people aren’t paying attention or simply do not know the law when it comes to stopping for school buses. A few seconds or maybe a minute is worth it to keep our children safe. Do you know the law in your state when it comes to stopping for school buses at a stop with their stop signs extended ?

This instructor says that when you come to a stop, if you can’t see the tires of the car in front of you then you are too close. Many said they do not leave that much space because it is an invitation for others to cut in front of you. I’m always worried that someone is going to hit me from behind and push me into the car in front of me. (It’s happened before) Many said they can’t even see the headlights when cars are behind them, that they are up way too close. Do you leave this much space between you and the car in front of you when you are at a stop ? Do you think tailgating is a huge problem?

First real pucker moment on FSD 14.3.3 during our Canadian coast to coast autonomous drive 👀 An automated construction stop sign was in the upright position and FSD read it as an actual stop sign, so the car stopped. We got honked at, waited it out, and then FSD continued on its own with zero intervention. Not perfect, but honestly pretty impressive. Tesla AI David Moss Devin Olsen

When you mount a camera to your car and run it every time you FSD in your Tesla, you’re bound to catch those little moments of pure magic that give you chills. This might be my favorite I’ve ever captured. Here’s a very awkward edge case. I am approaching a railroad crossing from an adjacent road. At the very moment I approach the stop sign, the lights begin to flash, and the bell begins to ring. FSD V14.2 does its NHTSA stop, and is at the point when it would normally proceed (BEFORE the gate arms begin to fall). FSD is able to gather context from the flashing red lights and the sound of the bell. From an adjacent road. Without any gate arm movement as additional cue. I really wasn’t sure here, and thought I might need to take over because of our awkward positioning, and because the arms weren’t going to drop before FSD would typically go. But nope. No problem for the sentient AI. As a cherry on top… when the gate lifts, the silver car waves me on and FSD begins to engage the right turn, but it stops before executing the turn…. Wtf?… oh lol. Forgot my robot car has eyes on the side of its head. Unbelievable technology. This company is at the very beginning of something incredible. Sustainable abundance or die trying. ❤️

At 40 mph, FSD V14 was able to come to a complete stop before impact. At 45 mph, it significantly reduced speed but was unable to stop completely before reaching the object. The purpose of this test was simply to explore the system’s limits. In real-world driving, the chances of encountering a completely transparent obstacle lying across the road are extremely low.
