FSD needed this lane change to follow the nav but couldn’t commit. Weaved back and forth a few times, got honked at, then gave up 🤦‍♂️

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio This occurs because for whatever reason Tesla thinks its smart to begin merging into the correct lane in the last 0.3 miles from the exit or turn. That isn't optimal its downright stupid.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio I wish FSD would get over earlier when trying to exit in heavy traffic

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio It’s simple. Get in the proper lane MUCH sooner. Don’t be so obsessed with passing a handful more cars. In other words, don’t drive like a moronic human.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio This is because it want to switch lanes last second instead of preparing ahead of time

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio FSD is one of those retard drivers that puts on their blinker and expects gaps to open up for them. I don’t want to rely on the good graces of other people to make an exit in traffic. FSD needs to do better here.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio Yes. It seems to switch lanes last second a lot. I wonder if it will make it sometimes! After a month, it’s been good so far.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio lol and of course you don’t disengage and correct it. Why would you want to give someone the impression it made a mistake recently. 🙄

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio Thats because it always waits until the last fucking second to get over because theres traffic

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio FSD often waits way too late to get over, expecting to be able to cut in at the last moment like many Kalifornia drivers that trained it.🤣🤣🤣 You know that you can "supervise" and use the turn signal to get it to behave better, don't you?

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio Fsd typically waits way too long to get into the correct lane for exits/turns, this causes stressful chaos on those lanes that typically backup.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio That’s the thing, even when it can move over early , it may not. Knowing the route I usually signal early on to make sure it’s in the right lane 🤦‍♂️ That behavior keeps changing version to version

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio Should have been in the right lane ages ago

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio I disengage so fast sometimes it makes FSD's head spin. Seriously I have my hand on the steering wheel and foot resting on the accelerator ready to take over in cases like these. I don't know what it is but sometimes it just gets "squirrely" in these kind of situations.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio I think you might have the Nissan Altima lane change feature activated.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio I wanna try that Tescam studio, is it really the exact blue overlay movements from the car's screen?

Spencer's profile picture

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio It’s using the logged steering wheel position to animate the overlay.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio New procedure for you. FSD is very polite. If somebody will not let you merge and honk their horn first take it off FSD second move in and push him the fuck out of the way third roll down the window and shoot the middle finger!

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio I have the opposite issue. It wants to merge over a mile from the exit, and usually behind a slow vehicle.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio To be clear, giving up and going the wrong way is the correct driving behavior when you can't see a safe way to get into the correct land in time. People do that all the time. This is evidence of correct behavior. An Intervention or a crash is evidence of incorrect behavior

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio I am not a big fan of the change in lanes now mostly at 0.2 miles. It used to change before that. When there is traffic built up or a straight line it becomes a problem

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio Does it seem like we’re having more of these nav issues lately or are there just so many more people using FSD and posting about it now?

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio WTH was the big lorry doing? Even if you were driving erratically they could have waited 20 m before changing lane. 😬

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio I wish there’s a setting we can set that tells FSD how far to the next turn to start merging into the correct lane.

@Tesla_AI @TesCamStudio The problem is fsd doesn't know people are usually not kind and nobody will let you in unless you force it. Fsd doesn't calculate the distance properly, by not accounting on the human factor.
