Yes. This is how skilled drivers make the most of a difficult situation. Without being rude or aggressive, FSD changes lanes when there is sufficient space to do so safely. Some drivers get upset because they lack the skill to drive like this.

the zipper merge is the most efficient way. cars staying in lane are inefficient. they are supposed to utilize all road surface. FSD knows...

I’m all for this, FSD saw the white van exit the lane and re-entered the lane without causing a delay or backup. Excellent execution.

I witnessed a terrible lack of lane discipline in China myself. The issue is that the constant lane skipping to get ahead of others will even turn moderate traffic into traffic jams. With proper lane discipline much denser traffic can be handled.

This is why I block all teslas in merging situations. I just assume they’re running FSD on asshole mode
