works if you're climbing a hill underwater too

This was an interesting route the algorithm chose. I feel like in situ I'd choose the path around the ridgeline, sacrificing distance in order to forego elevation change, as I've experienced the latter as more metabolically taxing.

Thats really cool. Could have used this so much back in my prospecting days.

I need a good plan for roads for the presidio in San Fran. I’m thinking like positano on the Bay

Washington / Wildcat 🤘

Made something similar for the Fourth of July but “can I see X from Y” with these combined you’d have an army of scout bots

Pre-AI, I wanted to build something that would help me search for apartments that had a west-facing city skyline view Hard problem back then but things have come so far

Yeah one of my college projects was scoping out parking lots for EV charging stations based on building shadows and it’s like… wow that’s a single prompt these days

That's really cool. For some reason my feed is full of stupid vibecode bro dashboard animations, so this was a nice break

overlaying the discovered routes on real trail maps would be a fun test, curious how many it lands on without ever being told where they are

Common algorithm or manually curated and developed?

Dijkstra path algo?

Can we have the link?

Nice! Also useful for EVs😅

Really cool. Does it end up preferring gentle grades the way old trails and roads do? Would be fun to compare its routes with where ski runs actually get cut on a mountain.

This is very very interesting

OH WOW! Dang. That's incredible. How does it calc the vegetation cover? Very nice

It doesn't. Just a path planner that uses terrain slope in its cost function

Still extremely worthy to use. You think you would need a lidar pass to add in a vegetation check? Huge potential for hunting & hiking(obviously)

can you show the diff to real path? beautiful!

These look really nice can you describe in detail how you made these elevations

Do we have a link?
