Garbage 30 years ago

Shirley Manson stills rocks my world.

I’m so glad I caught them live a few times in the 90’s. They blew the walls out.

They were 3 super producers and a hired gun bassist backing Shirley if I’m not mistaken.

Shirley Manson had guy's jaws dropping with just cute little dresses and fishnets and stompy shoes or boots, talent and stage presence. She didn't need to have her ass hanging out or behave like a 2 dollar whore onstage to get noticed

The ’90s really did have some great music. Rock got a little weird, a little darker, and a whole lot more interesting. Garbage fit right in, and Shirley Manson had a voice you knew the second you heard it.

Today their amazing debut album turns 31.

The Drummer was Butch Vig who happened to be the main producer for the Seattle Grunge Band 'Nirvana'...

Pretty sure that guitarist is a high school gym teacher during the week.

Loved their cover of Thirteen.

Two months ago! The drummer, Butch Vig, produced the biggest albums of the early 90s by Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, etc.

Last year St. Petersburg, Florida, I’d been a fan since their first album. Never thought I’d see Shirley Manson live

Saw them there as well Mark and in Tampa with Alanis few years before. Also a @MrMikeCalta fan

I can’t believe they only had two good albums. But, oh boy, I swear, I even wearied out my CDs of them back in the day. Love you, Garbage, forever.

Saw them opening for Alanis Morissette during the early years. They blew Alanis out of water, easily the highlight of the concert.

OMG The mix is perfect for a TV studio. (which is usually mediocre i.e. SNL) her vocal is surprisingly dry, not the performance but the effects, proving Manson can sing live without over polished vocal enhancements. Bravo!

IMHO, Stupid Girl and Garbage are unforgettable names, if noteriety is your claim to fame. But hard to climb out of darkness, and into the light, once you choose to paint your name black.

And still garbage now.

Current day Shirley looks miserable onstage. I think it’s the TDS.

They sound pretty good…you don’t have to be so mean. Just because it’s 30 years old, doesn’t mean it’s garbage…Like music now is so much better?
