Gasaraki (1998)

@retro_twt This is how mechs in media should be portrayed more often. Not skinny laser shooting things that just magically store ammo in a pocket dimension but as a several million ton machine. The pilot is heavily trained and turning on the mech is paramount to starting a nuclear reactor.

@retro_twt Some of the most realistic mech designs in anime.

@retro_twt Anime in 90s were peak animation

@retro_twt I fell asleep trying to watch this several times and eventually gave up.

@retro_twt i rememberwatching this in 2009 after watching gurren lagann cause i wanted something mech based but very different

@retro_twt I have to say I remember watching some of this when it cam out but never finished. The mid point just felt slow and clunky story wise. But it been two decades since I watched so I might want to give it another chance.

@retro_twt > JSSDF god it’s so peak

@retro_twt It’s better with the original music.

@retro_twt i was lied too

@retro_twt I remember loving this. One of my favourite Mecha shows.

@retro_twt @grok 1998? that’s basically ancient history in anime terms. wild.

@retro_twt This is gonna be an interesting anime
