Agent development is moving forward. While production scaling traditionally required manual infrastructure setup and provisioning sandboxes from scratch, there's now a faster path. Managed Agents in the Gemini API are officially live. Get maximum agentic power with zero infrastructure overhead. One simple API call delivers a managed, remote sandbox for your agent so you can focus entirely on behavior. 📁 Fully customizable with your instructions, tools, and data via and 🌐 Test, iterate, and scale long-horizon tasks natively in the cloud. The hardest part of building agents is now the part you don't have to build. 👇 Get started now:

What does it take to power the next generation of intelligent agents? At the Qwen Conference, Dr. Feifei Li, CTO and President of International Business at Alibaba Cloud, shared the four cornerstones driving agentic applications: Models, Agentic Cloud, Tools and Services, and Performance at Scale. Together, these pillars enable agents to reason, act autonomously, leverage tools like coding to accomplish complex tasks, and operate effectively at scale.

Today we're announcing that hybrid agentic inference is coming to Perplexity Computer. Computer can split tasks between a local model running on your machine and frontier models in the cloud. This keeps private data on your device and maximizes token efficiency. Coming soon.

Apple announces Swift Assist for Xcode 16! "Swift Assist serves as a companion for all of a developer’s coding tasks, so they can focus on higher-level problems and solutions. It’s seamlessly integrated into Xcode, and knows the latest software development kits (SDKs) and Swift language features, so developers will always get the latest code features that blend perfectly into their projects. With Swift Assist, tasks like exploring new frameworks and experimenting with new ideas are just one request away. Swift Assist uses a powerful model that runs in the cloud — and like all Apple developer services, it is built with privacy and security in mind. Developers’ code is only used to process requests and never stored on servers, and Apple will not use it to train machine learning models." Swift Assist is coming later this year to Xcode 16.

New course: Gemini CLI: Code & Create with an Open-Source Agent, built with Google Cloud Tech/Gemini CLI and taught by Jack Wotherspoon. Agentic coding assistants like Gemini CLI are transforming how developers work. This short course teaches you to use Google's open-source agent to coordinate local tools and cloud services for coding and non-coding workflows. Gemini CLI works from your terminal, so it works with your local files and development tools. You can also connect it to services through MCP. Then provide high-level instructions, and it autonomously plans and executes complex workflows. Skills you'll gain: - Build website features and automate code reviews with GitHub ActionsCreate data dashboards that combine local files with cloud data sources - Use MCP servers and extensions to orchestrate workflows across GitHub, Canva, and Google Workspace - Generate social media content from multimedia files like conference recordings I particularly appreciate that Gemini CLI is open-source. You can see exactly how it works, read the prompts it uses, and understand its architecture. The community has contributed thousands of pull requests. Since Gemini 3’s release I've found Gemini CLI highly capable - this is a tool worth having in your toolbox! Whether you're prototyping applications, automating workflows, or working with multimedia content, join to learn to delegate complex tasks and build faster:

For developers, Gemini 3 Pro offers unparalleled results across every major AI benchmark compared to Gemini 2.5 Pro. Here three ways Gemini 3 Pro can improve your workflow today: 1. Gemini 3 Pro fits right into existing production agent and coding workflows. It is also integrated into development environment experiences across the ecosystem of developer products like Google AI Studio, Gemini CLI, and Android Studio. 2. We introduced Google Google Antigravity, a new agentic development platform that reimagines how the model and IDE work together. It enables developers to manage agents to work at a higher, task-oriented level collaborating with agents while they build. 3. We’ve built Google AI Studio to be your fastest path from a prompt to an AI-native app. Build mode lets you add AI capabilities faster than ever, automatically wiring up the right models and APIs, while features like annotations enable fast and intuitive iteration. Whether you’re building a one-shot prompt game or an interactive landing page from unstructured voice notes, you can bring any idea to life with Gemini 3.

This release is fucking huge. It's one of the biggest updates to LMArena this year! Code Arena is our next generation of coding evaluations, beginning with web development tasks. Here you can use models to build interactive websites and share them with your friends. The links are persistent, so you can e.g. build a game and play it whenever you want. Here watch two models -- Claude Haiku and Grok-Code-Fast -- compete to build a galaxy. In this case, I liked the "star-wars" effect of Grok!

📣 OpenAI Developers GPT-6.1 Sol is now generally available in GitHub Copilot. You can use it for agentic coding and terminal workflows with strong multistep coding performance. In early testing, it reliably completed tasks while using noticeably fewer tokens and steps than earlier models in the GPT-6 and GPT-5.6 families. Try it out in the GitHub Copilot app, CLI, and Visual Studio Code.

If you're new to apps, you need to use XcodeBuildMCP. It takes all the rough edges out of working with Codex or Claude Code and Xcode. Your agent can build and run your app, and even check the UI to see if it looks good via Apple Accessibility APIs.

Over the past couple of years, you’ve heard us reference “agents” and “agentic capabilities,” nebulous concepts that are designed to help you with coding, booking trips, and other complex multi-step tasks. But, what actually IS an agent? We think of AI agents as systems that combine the intelligence of advanced AI models with access to tools so they can take actions on your behalf, under your control. Whether it’s a coding agent or our recently unveiled experimental tool Gemini Agent in the Google Gemini, these are systems that will meet you where you are, in the products that you love, to help take the tedious tasks you want off your plate.
