Is there a beginners version of that book available somewhere?

I wouldn’t have understood this book as a baby or adult.

Size not necessarily mean more mass; for this, the explanation lack the concept of density

Babies are usually more into string theory.

Still not getting it.

You don’t realize how terrible these books are until after you have kids.

the less mass and more mass page , the baby will think that bigger size more mass. Thats wrong.

Pretty cool but a few things are bothering me. Larger size does not equal more mass. Instead they should've shown like a cube of metal vs an ice cube or something. Also "Shrink mass large enough"? That wording needs a little work.

Wait this was actually such a good explanation

Don't brainwash your children. As Einstein himself wrote in a letter to Erwin Finley-Freundlich in August of 1913: "Wenn die Lichtgeschwindigkeit auch nur ein bißchen von der Geschwindigkeit der Lichtquelle abhängig ist, dann ist meine ganze Relativitätstheorie und Gravitationstheorie falsch." "If the velocity of light is even a little bit dependent upon the velocity of the light source, then my entire theory of Relativity and theory of Gravitation is false." It turns out… The velocity of light is indeed dependent upon the velocity of the light source.

Who the hell falls for this crap? Babies are learning about colors and shapes, not the bending of space time. Pushing them with crap like this just doesn’t work.

@juhasaarinen Yes, for babies, definitely. I mean at that level, pffffft. *surreptitiously bookmarks*

Don't teach your children this nonsense. Gravity is density and weight.

"For babies" meanwhile im watching this with adults at work who don't understand

Except after much thought & a career in physics I'm beginning to doubt this version, i.e., bending of space-time. I'm leaning more to particles, i.e. gravitons, that have attraction and similar to neutrinos that are unaffected by the most part of surrounding mass allowing interactions from a distance at speed of light. Demonstration in the kid's book is just that explains effects but not facts. Graviton would explain everything & solution to ToE.

Objects Don't "Want" to go anywhere. And The cause of the force upon any object in gravity remains unexplained here. Following the shortest path, is not a causation of movement explainer theory. Do not ever, 'Trust the Science' ...

This is a very cool book. Yet, given its potential effects on kids, it could be titled Black Holes as a Means of Terrifying Your Baby.

Bahaha I used this book as an example of great non fiction board books for new parents. This particular group have low literacy and education and telling them I have used books like this to inform myself helped break the ice and we talked about learning stuff from kid's books.

Meanwhile the baby is learning more about 3D space by just moving around and throwing a ball in a cup of water.

I was hoping this would be the last page. General Relativity for movie buffs.

Honestly, I think bringing a baby to play in a park for a full day will teach him more about general relativity than this book.
