Ordinary screws without proper washers aren’t suitable here. The use of roofing screws with rubber or EPDM grommets are recommended, instead. Fasten on the flats when possible; if you must screw the crests, ready-made EPDM spacers already exist, as well.

That is so stupid ! Why not use the sealed self tapping screws that came with the roofing ?
