St. Paul tells us that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend! I don't think we have to get that literal, but I think just a slight bow of the head in reverence when we mention the Holy Name of Jesus is a Catholic practice well worth recovering. That Most Holy Name is a prayer! It's an act of faith. The Good Newsroom

How about night prayer? Before we go to bed, we turn to the Lord in gratitude and sometimes with contrition. We bookend our days with the morning offering and our nightly prayers. Boy, that’s a practice worth recovering! The Good Newsroom

As we repent, strive to remember and honor our covenants, and prepare throughout the week to participate in the ordinance of the sacrament, we can be blessed to always retain a remission of our sins through the redeeming and saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ. The partaking of the bread and the water does not remit sins. It is the Lord Jesus Christ who forgives us of sin as we repent and come unto Him.

Ladies and gentlemen, if we FIGHT the Russians, we will LOSE. We will LOSE hands down. It won't even be close. We do not have a military today that can fight a large-scale ground war in Europe. The Russians are some of the finest, most professional troops in the world. Why? Because in the 20 years that we were squandering our resources, hunting down goat herders and insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan, they were focused on fighting us. Not because they want to fight us, but because we were promulgating policies that were pushing them into a corner where they had no choice to fight us.

We quickly forget our Lenten resolutions and try to get out of the minimal requirements that the Church has. On Fridays, we would not eat meat. On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, we would fast. Those are relatively easy! The Good Newsroom
