…you must be new here. And by “here”, I mean planet earth.

Imagine all the bodies buried out there. 😅

And the cray part is, you can’t even go into the sandbox to play 😳

that's interesting, but what do you think of this?

To me it's always looked like something erupted or blasted the area of the Great Salt Lake - and the ground boiled and melted out around it. Massive amount of energy to create something like that

I’ve lived in Yuma and Peoria where the backyard is nothing but desert …it got 125 in the shade in Yuma when I was there. In the summer it’s way easy to get heat stroke. Always made me feel trapped, dust storms are crazy, flooding, the few days it does rain,is crazy, Intimidating

These takes are always some person from the East coast that has never driven across the west

I grew exactly where she’s talking about. Right on one of those stark borders. We played in the desert all day as kids. Now that desert is nothing but houses. Urban sprawl is a pretty western phenomenon, but yes hopefully the equilibrium has been reached in places like Vegas and now the edge will remain.

Crap now I want to read that book about the American buffalo

Imagine the western U.S. having stretch marks where Nevada’s Great Basin is. There is essentially west and east crustal stretching pulling Nevada & Utah to make it wider. The harsh climate from being in a rain shadow effect also helps to define the basin and range further. These are the reasons Nevada & western Utah have parallel vertical ranges with valleys in between.

dont move to Pahrump, especially if u are a dirty liberal
