This is how the opening crawl for the original Star Wars was filmed.

Carrie Fisher once gave a Hollywood producer a cow's tongue after learning he had assaulted her friend. Heather Ross, who works in the film industry, told Fisher about how the unnamed producer assaulted her in his car. Fisher reacted by personally delivering the cow tongue in a Tiffany box wrapped in a bow to his office in Los Angeles.

The crew of 'Return of the Jedi' mocked the character design of Admiral Ackbar, deeming it too ugly. Director Richard Marquand refused to alter it, saying, "I think it's good to tell kids that good people aren't necessarily good looking people and that bad people aren't necessarily ugly people." Admiral Akbar was originally planned to be more conventionally humanoid, but after Star Wars creator George Lucas decided to make him an alien, he allowed Return of the Jedi director Richard Marquand to pick from various designs. Marquand picked a sketch by concept artist Nilo Rodis-Jamero, over the objections of other members of the film crew who thought the character looked too silly or ugly. Ackbar made his first appearance not in the film, but in a Star Wars newspaper comic strip that ran a few months before Return of the Jedi was released. Lucas was not entirely pleased with the final result of the character in the film and felt it was a compromise. Akbar's first name, Gial, was not established until April 2012. Ackbar had just 14 lines of dialogue in Return of the Jedi, and his total screen time across all three film appearances totaled only three minutes and 30 seconds. Nevertheless, he is considered a fan favorite among Star Wars characters, and was ranked No. 16 in a 1998 list of the "Top 20 Star Wars Characters" in the magazine Star Wars Insider. His line "It's a trap!" from Return of the Jedi became one of the most famous, quoted, and beloved lines from the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as a popular Internet meme. Many fans expressed disappointment and frustration with Akbar's sudden death in The Last Jedi, calling it abrupt and unceremonious, a sentiment echoed by Ackbar actors Rose and Kane, as well as the film's editor Bob Ducsay. They believed that a distinguished war hero, comparable to Winston Churchill in his role in defeating the Empire, should have gotten a more ceremonious death.

Star Wars cast out of costumes: Harrison Ford (Hans Solo), David Prowse (Darth Vader), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) circa 1977.

Psychedelics had to be involved

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

That doesn't convince me..

The Star Wars sound effects are a huge part of the franchise, being unique and iconic they were made in interesting ways thanks to sound designers. Since its inception, Star Wars has been at the forefront of visual effects, revolutionizing the way audiences watch movies. This is down to the hard work and talents of Industrial Lights and Magic, which was founded by George Lucas way back in 1975 for the production of the first film, which helped give A New Hope some incredible effects. As well as all the iconic imagery, Star Wars also has its fair share of iconic sounds that have stuck with fans throughout the decades. Ranging from the sounds of a blaster to a lightsaber to Chewbacca’s roar, fans will forever replicate Star Wars sound effects.

A near-fatal accident changed Lucas' career goal from racecar driving to filmmaking. The University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts helped him hone his art.

One of the most iconic sounds in film

The line “I’ve got a bad feeling about this,” spoken by various characters across the original trilogy, became an iconic catchphrase for the franchise. What’s lesser-known is that George Lucas wrote the line as an in-joke to express his own insecurities about the film’s success. The line encapsulated Lucas’s sentiments during a strenuous shooting and editing process, rife with technical problems and over-budget concerns. It has since been used in nearly every Star Wars film, carrying the legacy of those initial jitters.

That’s Ben Burtt sitting with him through a bunch of the scenes. Ben was Star Wars’ sound designer for the first 6 movies. He’s a buddy of mine and an absolutely terrific human being. Right @MarkHamill?

When George Lucas started writing Star Wars "All I need is an idea. A giant lizard with bunny ears and a fake Jamaican accent - let's start there."

Love how George Lucas brings the Star Wars universe to life with his iconic sound effects!

Thanks for sharing

Lucas hired sound designer Ben Burtt to create the sound landscape for “Star Wars.” Burtt’s work was revolutionary and set a new standard for sound in cinema. The iconic lightsaber hum was developed by combining the sound of an idling film projector and the buzz from an old television set. The voice of Chewbacca, the beloved Wookiee, was crafted from a mix of animal sounds including bears, walruses, lions, badgers, and other sick animals. R2-D2’s distinctive beeps and boops were made by Burtt and then electronically altered. Burtt created the initial sounds by synthesizing his voice and then processing it with other electronic effects. The terrifying roar of the TIE fighters was a blend of an elephant call and a car driving on wet pavement.
